Since we had read a lot of reviews before we arrived to this hotel we didn't excpect much. We simply chose this hotel because the hotel we wanted to stay at was full and Albergaria Vitoria offered a good rate. We figuered it's just a couple of nights but it affected the whole Evora experience in a negative way - soul less hotel, allready in the reception it felt depressing, I got a DDR-feeling. Staff was nice though!
The feel of the hotel is the feel of a two star hotel. There is really nothing wrong with it, but it is so ugly decorated and cramped with furniture that it just feels bad. The room was in brown and yellow with an orange smelly carpet. The head board had a built in (not working) radio wich felt like something that would have felt cool in the 1970's.
The shower worked so so.
The location was okej but rather only stay one night in Evora and find a nice place inside the walls instead of this place.
Breakfast was the worst breakfast I had in Portugal. Basic, no fruit and horrible juice etc. The view from the breakfast room merely helped. Again, 80's decor and way too many tables cramped in.
If you need a place to sleep, still think twice if you care anything about the over all experience.
