Bathroom in particular - little bit of a mouldy / fusty smell, not enough ventilation.

On the plus side, good location and great value breakfast.

The IBIS at Valladolid, by comparison, is much more up-to-date all round.

The Ibis is ideally situated: only a five minute walk from the Ibis, which is just outside the city walls, into the centre of the old city; and only 5 minutes walk from the bus station. Good on-site parking.
Good bar and lounge. Breakfast choices ample, but other meal options restricted in what is on offer. Free internet access. Hotel is very reasonably priced.
Reception staff friendly and able to provide usful information on things to see in Evora,

Apart from very slow service in the restaurant in the evening, this was a good experience and importantly, there is car parking - free in a limited outside area or small charge underground. Although outside the city walls, it is an easy walk to all the sites. There is very limited eating possibility immediately around the hotel apart from a good Chinese or a small BBQ type restaurant.

Poor planning on my part landed us at the Ibis in Evora. I am somewhat familiar with the Ibis brand being similar to what Americans will find at Motel 6. I understand that this is low-budget accommodation, but they seriously had to have sought out beds this hard, with sheets this rough and towels that would have been cast-offs from prisons in third-world countries.

The dining area had several tables and had not been cleaned in hours.

Although they claimed to have wifi in the lobby, it did not work properly and the signal continuously dropped. Desk staff didn't really care.

If you arrive early enough, you can get free parking in the small lot; if not, you'll pay E10 for parking in the unsecure garage.

One upside: It is walking distance to center of Evora.

In a town this interesting, plan ahead so you don't have to stay here.
