Very nice place to rest , with Spa and lots of places around inside the farm - vine yard, cellars, animal farm, - to walk, see , feel and taste . There is bycicle, moto4, horses, etc .

The hotel has the perfect location to take away the stress of the city. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is quite good. The dinner was a disappointment, the food poorly cooked and little variety of wines (only those produced at the farm where the hotel is located).
It is an excellent hotel for those who have children because it has a number of activities (paid).

We stayed in this hotel for one night on a round trip in Southern Portugal (as part of our honeymoon). The hotel is situated in the middle of the fields. Apart from a couple of buildings, the hotel is completely isolated. The nice thing is that it is very relaxing to be here, the down side is that if you want to visit some places, you need to drive to it. We didn't mind since we were staying just one night in the hotel and we were driving a car. The hotel offers all sorts of activities (not free of charge if I remember correctly). The swimming pool seemed very nice.

We had dinner on the terrace of the restaurant, watching the sunset. This was a great dinner and also the food (à la carte) was nice, consisting of great regional dishes (we stayed on a half board basis). Also breakfast was nice (large buffet type breakfast). The rooms were also nice: modern and very well looked after. The hotel consists of some smaller buildings, so to go to another path you should walk outside, which was very pleasing to me.

The only sad side was that not all staff was able to speak english very well, but there was always someone who could, so I don't think this was too bad.

I usually visit the beautiful alentejo region for it's magnificent wine, gastronomy and scenery.
For the first time I stayed in the vila gale clube de campo hotel of which I had high expectations.
First of all I arrived with my car in the very hot & sunny afternoon to notice that parking was a serious problem, not one shadow, the car was strongly exposed to the sun, temperatures got very high and impossible for children when starting a new trip.
I got to the reception, the staff was ok, procedure was fast & easy, but not very friendly.
I usually need to be updated online due to my business but I was immediately surprised by extremely expensive wireless internet (€20.00 per hour), and not available in rooms. I found that unbelieavable as I expected to be free as in other well known hotels. Later with my baby we decided to try the indoor pool since it was too hot & sunny for the other outside pool, we arrived at the SPA reception to find out that I would have to pay €15.00 for a few minutes with my baby & wife, again I felt this was wrong and extremely expensive. We were left with nothing to do until temperatures got more comfortable and tried the other ok exterior pool (finally something included in price).
After some fun with my family it was time for dinner and again one terrible surprise, way too expensive (no wine, no deserts, only for 2 adults at an amazing €50.00). The food was fine, but I started to feel this was not right.
Then absolutely no entertainment in bar, we had no choice but to go to bed, and this was eventually the worst part. The bed was so bad that I got no sleep and a serious pain in the back in the morning, on top of that I heard all my neighbours very clearly, this caused stress to my baby and a terrible night.
In the same morning we decided to go to the children's playground, again not one shade, and everything was very hot, impossible for children.

We had no other chance, everywhere we moved we had to pay very costly, so decided to leave. Just as reference in the bar 1 small coffee, 1 small beer, 1 small water almost €10.00

But I must be fair and point out some positive aspects, great location, great views, several payable activities and decent food.

This hotel had everything to have a winner, but vila gale just did everything very wrong.
