Tired hotel, indifferent food (with no choice of dishes - like it or lump it), miserable barman with no conversation & a face like a wet weekend, tiny room with a view of 3 yellow-painted & peeling walls & some dead plants in filthy pots. Room had holes in the wall, a window that wouldn't close, a wardrobe with a door missing, a broken chair, grubby, marked walls, and strange stains on the carpet. I would advise only black tea/coffee & toast for breakfast unless you're up early enough to get some fresh fruit before it disappears. Location, however, is excellent and there is an indoor pool (I didn't see anyone using it). Entertainment not bad (a bloke playing records). Some staff are OK, others seem to resent the presence of all these inconvenient people. We won't be back.

This hotel is in need of a good refurbishment. The room was poky and grubby. The radiators were held together by rust and the bathroom sink was cracked and covered in cigarette burns. Shower grout was black not that there was hot water to shower anyway. The reception staff were unhelpful. If you like a cup of tea take your own kettles as there are no facilities in your room. In saying all that the beds were clean and very comfortable

What saved this holiday for us was the fantastic restaurant staff. The food was always piping hot and there was always more if you asked for it. We had the 7 course gala dinner new years eve and we couldn't fault it. When I explained I didn't eat fish they gave me alternatives. They were brilliant couldn't fault them.

One of our better stays in Ostend. Pretty fair all round although we did eat out. For the price the room, breakfast and servcie was good

We stayed here for 2 nights and were really pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews. Our room was clean, spacious and had TWO balconies. We also had a lovely sea view. The hotel itself is ideally located just a short stroll from the promenade, shops, bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely even though there was no choice for dinner. I enjoyed not having to take a hairdryer in my luggage. We will definitely stay here again and as soon as possible.
