The wallpaper in our room fel off , the tv set should be hanging on the wall but...it had fallen off!
The elevator was right outside our room and kept us up all night.
After checking in ,the mananger called us on our cell phone and asked when we where ariving! After explaining we 're already on the room, he asked how we wanted to pay, whe already payed 2 weeks in advance by visa! Total chaos!

Our party was made up of two couples in our twenty's, coming over to Belgium for a relaxing beach weekend. Having seen that the Alpha Hotel was the best rated in Ostende on tripadvisor we had high expectations, that just were not met. It is a 3pm check in, and when we got to our room we opened the door and the room wasn't made at all. Rubbish still in bed, dirty sheets on the bed and wet towels on the floor. There was a large red wine stain on the bedroom carpet. We all know that some one has stayed in a hotel room prior to ourselves; you just don't want to see it. My husband went downstairs to complain and was told they were busy and we would have to wait another twenty minutes to get someone up to clean the room. A 3pm check in is very late and to wait further wasn't good enough for as as we wanted to freshen up and go out. We stewed on it for a while and my husband went back downstairs and complained again, and suddenly there was another room for us to have. Fair enough but no one had seemed apologetic. I don't know what room the previous author stayed in but our first and second room were tiny, as was our friends. We didn't have any bath towels to start with, when they did arrive later that evening they were rough and fraying.
Good Points, the fixtures and fittings are nice and modern, location is great, the bar stayed open nice and late. If you are with a group of friends and want a base for going out in Ostende this would have what you want. A romantic getaway in the best hotel in Ostende - I don't think so.
