“Couldn't be better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

We loved this B&B. We stayed there with friends in a Superior Suite, which has a big living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We also had a kitchen, which was shared with another room. There are only two guestrooms in this B&B, so you really get a lot of privacy. The B&B has a huge garage, free Wi-FI and a very good location. The owners are very kind and treated us like were their old friends. We will come back!

Room Tip: Superior suite is excellent for familites and groups of friends.

“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

We stayed at the Consulate with friends for 3 nights and we wish we could stay longer. This hotel is simply perfect in everything. We highly recommend it to everyone!

Room Tip: The Superior Suite is amazing. It can accommodate up to 6 people. It is pure luxury.

“Would highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

I Stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights and we had an amazing time. Bruges itself is gorgeous and the B&B is only a stones throw away - a nice route into town, too.

Svitlana was an extremely helpful hostess, ready with maps, brochures and recommendations to guide us to all the hotspots.

We stayed in the Junior suite - large double bed, shower sits within the bedroom (maybe something to be aware of), separate room with sofa and TV. Had a really good night's sleep and Het Consulaat has a very quiet, private feel to it.

If you're staying in Bruges for a few days and visiting a lot of the attractions, I would definitely recommend buying the city card from the tourist information. Our's paid for themselves within the first day!

“Didn't want to leave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

Our first visit to Bruges and we're so pleased to have stayed here. Having no experience of Brugge we didn't want to be 'right in the tourist area', nor far away (often difficult to get right). Het Consulaat is a perfect location and a beautiful Hotel/B&B.

We stayed in the family suite and were warmly welcomed by the owners who gave us a lovely explanation of the surrounding area and things we might like to see (taking into account we were also travelling with a 1, 7 and 9 year old). They also provide a list of lovely restaurants they recommend.

The Het Consulaat is around 5 mins walk from the main tourist areas which is reached by walking through some beautiful little cobbled streets (fine for push-chairs). They also have some hidden gem shops and restaurants that the regular tourists miss (but the locals use!). After seeing the hustle a bustle of the main areas we ate in one of the recommended venues which were provided to us ( De Republiek) - it was full of locals which is always a good sign!

Our room was very clean, very well equipped, comfortable and super-relaxing. Breakfast was a feast and high-quality. A well stocked fridge of drinks and belgium beers which you could purchase if desired and most welcome after a busy day of sight-seeing.

We drove to Brugge and the Het has covered parking which is secure. It also has a lift.

We're already planning on returning to Brugge and will be staying at the Het Consulaat as long as its not booked already!

“Best B&B In Bruges”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We absolutely loved our stay at the Het Consulaat. We stayed in the Superior Suite which had 2 floors and plently of room for our 3 small children. The top floor was a sleeping area and the bottom floor had a living room, bathroom, and a bedroom. The owners are very nice and very helpful upon arrival.
The B&B is only a 10 minute walk from the Market Square so the location is great.
The breakfast was great, private parking is available and the quality of the beds was good too.
Het Consulaat is a terrific place to stay!
