We stayed one night at this hotel and wish we could have stayed more. We flew into Brussels and made the hour drive to Bruges. We had no reservations, there were three of us travelling together, and our first stop was the Hotel Casselburgh to see if they had rooms available. They did, but offered no last minute deals. I was a bit bummed, since the entrance was grand and I was looking forward to being pampered. We then went right across the street to the Hotel Malleberg, although not quite as grand, it was very cozy, a lot more friendly and comfortable.
We were visiting beginning of December, so not sure this area is always availalbe so last minute during high season. We got two rooms for an incredible rate, and we loved the place. It was a great location, walked everywhere. The owners are so nice and accomadating, especially since we had no reservations. The breakfast area is historic and the breakfast was delicious. There was internet service in the breakfast area which was helpful in getting directions to our next spot.
There are lots of cute options to stay, some on the water in Bruges, but I did not feel we were missing out by not being on the canals. The hotel is small and cozy, but the rooms are a very nice size. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place with nice people, great breakfast and good value.
