“A Most Enjoyable Stay”

We have just returned from one night in Bruges and at Sint Niklaas. The owner Anne made us feel most welcome in her home and we chose the Rooftop room. It is more than spacious enough, very clean with a bathroom en suite. Everything about Sint Niklaas was excellent and breakfast is plentiful. Not being big breakfast travellers the selection of breads, pastries, meats and fruit was more than we could eat and we almost felt embarrassed that we managed only a little.

Lovely views from the rooftop across to the Belfry and a few minutes walk to the centre of Bruges. Anne recommended several restaurants but we found another called The 57 within 2 minutes walk in the main street Wollestraat. It has only recently opened and overlooks the canal at low level. The food was excellent and the value for money matched. Really friendly too as was Bruges in general.

Parking as suggested in the 24 hour Pandreitje car park was a little worrying at first as it is underground but it was very safe, clean and appeared to be secure and attended all night. Good value at less than 9 euros and just a few minutes walk.

All in all we had a good taster of Bruges and Sint Niklaas certainly lived up to previous reviews. We shall definitely return.

“Sint nik was top notch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

A+ bed and breakfast. Location couldn't be better. Right in the mix of things. Walking distance to everything. Our host was very friendly and very accommodating. Room was exceptionally clean and very warmly decorated. Breakfast was delicious. Anne even prepared us early breakfast, knowing we had to catch a train to Frankfurt. Wow. Thanks Anne. We stayed on the second floor, which is really the third floor with an amazing view. Our host recommended a few restaurants and locations to visit. I would definitely recommend Sint Niklaas and would return to Bruges. What a nice little town to relax.

“Hospitality, Warmth, Comfort, Location, Food, Perfection”

I can barely put words to how wonderful our stay was with Anne at Sint Niklaas. Anne waited up for us until we arrived around 11PM, she merely suggested if we wanted to go out, we could. We dropped our bags in the lovely, spacious, well-decorated, fully functional room with a stunning view of the bell tower and then promptly found Staminee de Garre and had their famous house brew. Breakfast in the morning was lovely consisting of the standard bread, cheese, meets, nuts, cereal, & pastry buffet items and eggs cooked to order, fresh squeezed o.j., individual servings of fresh fruit, etc, etc. Anne made suggestions on what to do and see in our two day visit. As we talked with some other patrons about the beer we were excited to try, Anne's ears perked up. And then as we were heading out, she explained that she had 'the best beer in the world', the Westvleteren yellow vest, if we wanted to try it. It was the sole mission of our Brugge adventure and it was handed to us on our first morning. Let's just say the rest of the visit only got better. You must stay here, if there is room!

“Lovely central B&B, with fabulous breakfasts”

We've just had two nights at the Sint Niklaas B&B, and can wholeheartedly recommend it. The location couldn't be better, just a stone's throw from the main square, and we were well looked after by Anne.
We stayed in the rooftop room, which Anne described to us as 'cozy', but I thought it was very spacious! The bed (two large singles joined together) was huge, there was ample space for a table and two chairs, as well as a desk. The bathroom was lovely too - big, huge window looking over the rooftops (I dont think anyone could see in!) and a lovely deep bath plus good shower.
The breakfasts were delicious - freshly squeezed orange juice, lots of fresh rolls/pastries, an egg, little bowl of fresh fruit (we had mango one day and pineapple the next) plus yoghurts, cereal etc if you wanted. We ate so well we didnt feel like lunch either day. It was a lovely touch to be given a chocolate st nick on the day we left (St Nicholas's day) - I don't think there's anything wrong with eating chocolate for breakfast!

It would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room, but I dont think many European hotels/B&Bs provide these, and the Sint Nik is so close to lots of lovely restaurants/cafes/bars that it didn't really matter.

“Excellent B&B in a great location”

We went for a mini Break to Brugge on the 16th September and had an amazing weekend.
We stayed at Sint Niklaas which was in the perfect location, down a quiet street just off the main centre.
Anne was very friendly and welcoming. She was very helpful with suggesting places to eat and places to visit.
We hired bikes which was a great way to see the town, we cycled to the windmills on the east side of town which I highly recommend.
If your into Architecture/Chocolate and beer Brugge is the place to go and Saint Niklass is definitely the place to stay.
Thanks for a great stay
Jemma and Simon
