My first say in bruges jan 2011 and i stuggled to find an affordable good rate for solo traveller. This hotel is in a residential street but only minutes walking form the Burg and other main tourist area and is quite formal, grand reception, formal dining room for breakfast, quite beautiful and spacious rooms, unusual for bruges.
What I liked and wont benefit most readers is they didn't discriminate the solo traveller and show you to the broom cupboard, the rule of thumb is you pay a room rate for 2 persons but many hotels take advantage of solo status and book you in their worst room, this didn't happen here.
The room was very clean, double bed, spacious, tv, lovely bathroom with bath and shower, nice view of the rooftops and the belfy from the window which opened.
It was january and the room was a bit cold, i was pleased to have the bath after sightseeing in the freeze but i was cold in the room, this and no kettle/coffee maker in room looses a star or i'd give it 5.
The hotel was also a little clinical/formal for my taste although solo i would have felt the same in company.
The breakfast room was beautiful, attentive staff, quality limited breakfast but again formal.
I slept well here, the location was fab, i was welcomed solo and not ripped off for my stay.
I would stay here again getting a good late rate.
Room Tip: As a solo traveller i got a really good standard room, this leads me to believe there are no bad roo...
