We paid a good price and the reservation said 'small room'. When we got there it was clear why this was stated in the booking, but nevertheless it was clean and modern, a good ensuite and a great central location for exploring this stunning city.

A buffet breakfast was included in our booking and we were quite impressed at the range and quality of food available. Overall very satisfied but not the venue to impress a partner!

Great location, comfortable and clean hotel, generally a pleasant stay BUT A WARNING TO ALL - PLEASE BEWARE OF THE BREAKFAST. Signs note the times and place of breakfast, and there are even a few signs on the hall way walls noting a surcharge for in-room breakfasts, but you will NOT be informed of the breakfast charge of 15 euro per breakfast (whether verbally at check-in or by any written means) until check out. The manager has acknowledged the issue and noted he has been aware of the problem for a while now, but they continue to operate as per usual, catching out unsuspecting travellers, who are used to being informed one way or the other by honest hotel operators.

Het Gheestelic Hof has an excellent and tranquil location in the heart of the old city; which was one of the highlights of our trip and for central Bruges accommodation it is very reasonably priced.

We had a first floor superior room up a narrow and creaking stairway. The larger room had a lot of floor space but little else it seemed over a standard room, the standard of furnishing was not different. Next time I would settle for a standard room.

Clean and sufficiently large bathroom whose only drawback was an ineffective shower screen.

This Hotel is family run jointly with the 4 star Hotel De Castillion across the street. If you have a look at the hotel's own website you will get an idea of the style of the place.

You would probably consider this hotel because of the reasonable cost and great location, so one point for travelers on a budget. We ate dinner one night at the very fine degustation restaurant (Le Manoir Quatre Saisons) where the food was excellent - the restaurant has a number of accolades from Gault Millau and the like. However this was as expensive, for a three course meal, as two nights in a standard room. Mind you we didn't set out to eat 3 courses at first, but the food was soooo good.

Other nights we walked maybe 300m to one of the many good restaurants in the old centre. We also didn't take breakfast because of the significant cost and ate that in town also.

We were a group of 12 looking for a hotel for a 2-day seminar. Having found the hotel website we were a bit suspicious after reading the previous tripadvisor reports, but were pleasantly surprised.
The location is excellent - close to the very town centre, but with little noise. The rooms are of different sizes (we had them all but one) but were all clean and with all the amenities we needed. Most rooms were to the back with a few facing the street. Some noise in the mornings, but no more than you would expect in a town centre hotel.
Staff was very nice and did everything to make our stay a pleasant one. Great breakfast in the partner hotel across the road where we also had coffee breaks in a nice salon.
This hotel can be strongly recommended for those who want a 3-star hotel in the centre and wanting to avoid the hotelchains.
