I travelled here in September 2011 with my mum, im 24 and she is 55. It was her first trip and my second trip to Bruges. This place was amazing, it was just off the main shopping strip through a small alley which opened up to a terrace overlooking the canals with 2 restrauntst in it. It was also located near the pub that sells a ridiculous amount of flavoured beers. The hotel was super clean and fresh. We stayed on the third floor with canal views and no words could describe how magical it was. You walked into the room and it had a large bathroom (for european standards) and ample cupboard space, we had twin beds and there was more than enough rooms for the many bags that we had taken. The windows open up with sitting room inside to the canals with a church on one side and flowers on the trees, and the other side has a side walk with more reaturants and cafes and just below it was were you could get a canal boat cruise. Just as beautiful views at night as it was during the day. The breakfast was plentiful and in a rustic, homey and spacious dining room. Verh highly reccomend it!
