We just arrived home after spending a wonderful week in romantic Brugges. We actually planned ahead to divide our time between two small guest houses, with Number 11 being the second place to stay. We started at the Bonifacius, which was our first choice and stayed in the largest room. Upon checkout we were sad thinking nothing could top that place. We arrived early at our suite at No. 11 and were immediately blown away. The suite was like our own private luxury apartment, complete with courtyard, that was green and incredibly charming even in mid-winter. The suite had it's own private entrance, a lovely living room with big roaring fireplace, enclosed shelves full of books and magazines, with two comfortable leather club chairs. The bedroom was warm and romantic, very comfortable bed with crisp linens. There was a very large bathroom with large soaking tub, separate shower. The whole place was beautifully decorated, with pale blue walls, rustic wood floors, white-washed beamed ceiling. It almost had a bright, romantic and casual vibe that you'd see in California, but instead of looking out onto the ocean or vineyards you looked out onto an amazingly lush private courtyard. Well definitely go back, next time with our teen daughters.More
