We had a great trip to Brugge and stayed here for 3 nights. The double room was quite large and well heated when we figured out how to do it. Breakfast was also very good. Generally the hostel was clean though clutteres with renovation and cleaning materials. Location is also very good.
Overall however, this place is pretty shabby and though it is one of the cheapest places in Brugge was pretty over priced. We paid euro75 a night which was a lot cheaper than a number of shabby b+b's, but overall next time I think I will pay extra. We didn't have ensuite and the bathroom on the corridor was always busy, extremely cold as it was unheated and had no hot water. It was -2C outside and we ended up just not washing for much of the holiday!
Staff were nice and helpful. They took in our bags early and kept them after we had checked out so we could sight see before our train back and booked us a taxi from a good taxi firm. However, they were a bit too intent on pushing the mad, crazy euro vibe on us which resulted in a group of them funneling beer into each other until 1am very loudly under our room on one night! Great if you want that, but most of the people there off-season were families with older children/young adults.
Don't miss 't Brugs Beertje, a great pub nearby which is v popular with locals and some tourists. The only place where you can get an affordable croque madame too!
