“wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

This place can't be beat, especially for the price! It was the nicest place we stayed in our 3 weeks in Europe. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was huge, and we had a view of the canal to top it off! Its pretty close to the center, but tucked away in a quiet spot. The family is so sweet and accommodating, she even packed us a breakfast since we had to leave really early on our last day! We would definitely return to Bruges, and stay at Coupure!

“Bruges & Coupure - special places!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

This August, we took a family trip to Belgium and spend 2 nights at Coupure B& B in the magical Bruges.
We picked this place because of it’s close location to the centre along one of the channels. The house is traditional for Bruges, with lots of charm and the owners friendly and helpful. We had a garage provided in the same neibourghoold, walking distance which was excellent since you don’t need a car to visit Bruges!
The room we stayed was at the upper level, clean and comfortable with nice views over the city, internet access also available. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, with a variety of breads, cheeses, pastry and fruits. This place was just lovely and would recommend it to anyone planning to visit Bruges.

“Very Nice Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

My honey and I, and another couple, stayed for four nights at the Coupure in April. The B&B is located in a quiet area, on a nice canal, a few minutes from the heart of town, and an easy walking distance to everything - sites, restaurants, bars, and parks. As for the Coupure itself, the rooms were clean and comfortable, very good breakfast, and the owners very warm, engaging, and helpful. One thing to note if you are planning to stay here, is that at the end of our stay there was some construction going on in the immediate area, it did not affect us, but ask before making reservations.

“Immersed in Bruges, Coupure is a great location with a great owner!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2011

We LOVED that it was literally a 3-4 minute walk into the heart of Bruges & the large room with views of the canal and, out the back, of the skyline of "downtown". But the best feature was the friendly and helpful owner Ilse. She warmly greeted us, set us up with a map and helped us locate some of the "must see" places in town, steered us towards several great restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, drew a line on the map for us to follow to the bike rental place and showed us all the rooms and let us choose what we wished. Truth is, she even helped us weeks before we got there with clear emails explaining what bus line to take from the train station. She also puts on a great breakfast spread, don't miss the chocolates over on the sideboard! We've stayed in a lot of apartments and hotels and B&Bs over the years, B & B Coupure rates as good as they come, it is a charming place in a real home with a nice family in Bruges, what's not to love?!?

Room Tip: 3rd floor room has views front and back and large

“Beyond our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

2 things- B&B Coupure and Bruges are way beyond our expectations. The town is quite beautiful...dare I say it, almost a fairy tale place! Coupure could not be in a better location, so handy to the sights but so peaceful right next to it's own canal, lock and local bars. Brilliant if you have a car because they have their own free car park close by and its easy to drop your bags right at the front door. The main top bedroom is one of the best we have stayed in during our 3 month tip to Europe and I'm writing this from that room as the evening sun streams in through the roof windows. all in all pretty perfect.
Don't even think about staying in a hotel when with your very own front door it feels like you own the place.
