“One of the best hostels i've ever been too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Me and my boyfriend were travelling Europe last summer and decided one of our must stop destinations had to be Bruges, after loving the film "In Bruges" with Colin Farell in it.

The Hostel is in a great location, only a short walk from the main market square filled with restaurants and the bell tower etc. The hostel also provides day and nightly activites. We signed up for the "In Bruges" tour around the city and our guide, Harry, was excellent. We were the only two on the tour that day so he gave us extra information on the city itself, and coupons for local restaurants and even took us to his friend's pub for a beer! A really great guy. On the subject of beer, we also went to the beer tasting in the hostel, which was a great night! And the pub joint to the hostel was cheap and staff were very friendly and welcoming!!

We stayed in a private room in the more modernised end of the hostel. It fitted our needs perfectly, although the only negative i would say it had tea/coffee making facilities but no milk. But this didn't matter as your breakfast is included in the price. After travelling for a month i can say this was the best hostel we stayed at. Will return again in the future i'm sure!

“a nicer hostel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

A nicer hostel then most in the area. The bathrooms were not the cleaniest in my opinion. The rooms were a good size and clean but the lockers were punched in so we could lock our belongings while we were roaming Brugge. Breakfast was a continental breakfast which was good on the go.

“Deffo use again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

When we saw some horror storys of this hostel we nearly didnt go! We payed 25pounds each per night, for a private luxioury room. People have said that its a "dirty" hostel? Dont agree at all! There was abit of dust under the bed, but dont let that put you off! Our room was big, with a wardrobe and a desk, the bathroom was on the small side..but our beds were nice and big! We had tea and coffee in the room, hair-dryer and the central heating could be on as much or as little as you liked! Which I thought was brilliant! Nothing better than walking into a nice warm room :)

The staff upon arival were lovely and helpful, we often got confused or had to double check things and the staff were happy to help. We also rang up a couple of times before we arrived and they helped up with our route from the train station.

Free breakfast! Cereal, toast, cheese and eggs with tea, coffee and fresh juice. The restaurant to eat in at night is also very good! Only downside, food was cheap, drink was abit pricey!

Not a problem with noise or anything like that! Deffo go back to this hostel!!

Nice location, supermarket down the road, bike hire, free brekky and hostel quizz (right laugh!)

People shouldnt mark this hostel down! If your a snob, go to the 5 star hotel down the road....

We also missed our flight because of a Belgian train strike so we missed our plane! :( We returned for a final night, and they gave us our same room for a tenner each. Sorted!

“A good hostel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

This hostel is well located and organised. The room we had very recently refurbished and very clean. Each bed had a curtain that could be pulled around it for extra privacy which was really convenient.

There is an excellent bar there that had live music and a great atmosphere which was a highlight of the trip!

There were a few negatives. The breakfast (which was included) was a shambles. They ran out of mugs, plates and cutlery. We had to find dirty plates on tables and ask the staff to wash them as there weren't enough staff to clear and wash at the same time.

Another issue is that we were told the front desk is close during the night. This wasn't an issue for us but if you did have any issues this would be a problem.

But compared to some other youth hostels I've stayed at this was good value, modern and clean.
