Hotwire sometimes works wonders. This was not one of those times.
The hotel is NOT, I repeat NOT in Brugge. Whilst some people complain about this and I normally think "WTF, the hotel was close to the centre" this, sadly, can not be said of this hotel. Far enough away to require a taxi into town on a cold night, but close enough to charge "in town" prices, the ArtHotel (clearly not a part of the larger European chain) is a bog standard roadside motel.
Upon arrival, don't be surprised when you are charged a "room deposit" as opposed to just placing a card behind the desk. The rooms are tiny and haven't been updated since mid-last decade. Again, another hotel which thinks it appropriate to charge for water, you can not escape the feeling that this behemouth of a motel is charging for EVERYTHING in order to make up for their low visitor numbers.
The restaurant served acceptable food, but WAY overpriced for the lack of atmosphere.
All in all, if you are on the fence on this place, don't do it. BUT if you are looking for a personality defunct roadside motel in the middle of an industrial estate, well.... Welcome home.
Boo.
