Our experience seemed somewhat different from others who seemed to love this hotel. It is a very pretty spot, and very much story book. On the other hand, we found it to be tiny tiny tiny spaces, beautifully designed, but claustrophobic if you are so inclined. I thought I had booked one of the higher level accommodations -- maybe not -- but our room was in the eave of the attic up a very steep stair or extremely small elevator at the end of a very narrow hall. In the room, you could not even walk around the bed without bending under the ceiling. Very impractical bathroom set up. Poor bedding. Had the cost been 1/2 what we paid, it might have been fine. But the cost/value ratio was way off in my opinion. The room in which breakfast was served was truly lovely, though breakfast was not included in our rate and was expensive. Excellent location. Lovely views. Typical "in the town" night-time noise, and lots of bells -- which didn't really bother us but might bother some. The staff, while pleasant, did not seem particularly welcoming, hospitable or accommodating to us, particularly in contrast to Amsterdam from which we had just come.

The good: Outstanding staff. Questions answered, suggestions offered. Promptly and efficiently. Very thoughtful people who always seem to go the extra steps to make you feel welcome. The hotel is small and charming, and features original works of art and a comfortable sitting room. Breakfast and tea can be had here; for dinner they have nice suggestions within walking distance, including their own restaurant in easy walking distance.

The bad: Sorry, nothing to note.

The curious & delightful: Champagne & crispy, airy Belgian waffles for breakfast.

Wow!!! Out of a story book. Incredible service and a true touch of old elegance. One of the best nights of sleep I have had and the food was that special touch to make you look forward to another day here. You won't be disappointed with the hotel. On the canals and within walking distance from the best waffles you'll ever eat. Were going back to Europe in 2012 and will be visiting here again. THe hotel is clean and well appointed with all you need for your storybook visit to Brugge

It was my second time at the Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce. Since I stayed for the first time there I wanted to return because I fell in love with this beautiful, romantic hotel.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and charming what makes each and every guest feeling comfortable and cared for,
The location is excellent. Although very central, this little gem is 'hidden"in a lovely corner that ends in one of the most beautiful canals in Bruges.
Decor is luxurious and still...cozy!!! There is a nice small lounge where guests can enjoy a good cup of tea with some treats (and chocolates) in the afternoon, or a glass of Champagne in the evening.
The atmosphere is to die for: it is impossible not to feel in a romantic dreamlike mood.
And if it is not enough, the waffles that are served in the champagne breakfast are among the best that I've ever had!
