“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

You'd probably find many more comfortable hotels in Brugge but the location of Hotel Egmond is what clinches the deal. Ask for room 5 on the first floor, and you'll have a large room, comfortably furnished without winning any interior decorating prizes with two cottage pane windows overlooking the beautiful Minnewater park. Leave the windows open and you'll be awoken by twittering birds in the trees in the garden below. It's just t he most peaceful, lovely corner of an otherwise crowded Brugge, and great to return there after a day of exploring. If you don't mind a very small bathroom, lugging your luggage up two flights of stairs and a run-of-the-mill breakfast then it really is the place to stay. And at a decent price too. A return stay is on the cards!

“Christmas Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

Stayed for one night in this quiet and beautiful hotel, room was big and nice and cosy even though it was freezing outside, room could do with decorating but was clean, very creaky floorboards but was part of the ambience and didnt disturb us during the night, staff really nice and friendly, breakfast was nice but could of done with having a little more choice. Was able to leave luggage while our coach arrived late in afternoon and was able to stay in lounge as we had walked our legs off and was very cold till the coach arrived. Looking forward to staying here again and seeing the 2 lovely dogs!!!!!!!

“A Nice Location in Minnewater Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

We really liked the location of this hotel. It's in Minnewater Park, which is close to the train station and very quiet at night. It's very close to the canal, with the ducks and swans, which was enchanting. The hotel is very attractive. Our room was very nicely decorated, but was quite small. We had a double or maybe queen size bed with two chairs by the dormer windown. The bathroom was a good size, but it had a tub under the eaves. It had a shower spray, but you had to sit under it to use it and it was a bit awkward. The people who worked in the hotel were all very pleasant and accomodating. The breakfast was good, with eggs and bacon every morning along with cold cuts, rolls and very good bread. Also granola, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit.

“Idyllic park like setting...book it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

Charming old manor house converted to a hotel. When you are surrounded by thousands of tourists in Bruges it is wonderful to return to this beautiful hotel in a park like setting by a quiet lake with swans and ducks. This hotel is located literally 50 feet from the end of Rick Steves' suggested walking tour of Bruges. The breakfast is great. The rooms are comfortable and clean...nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate.

“Charming Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

Hotel Egmond is located near Minnewater Park in Bruges, outside of the main tourist areas. The grounds are quiet with a wonderful garden right outside the front door. The building is 200 years old, and I was told that it has been a hotel for only 20 years, being a private home prior to that. Breakfast was very good, and the staff was very helpful. Our only concern was that our room was on the top floor, and there is no lift, so we had to schlep our heavy suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. But the room was comfortable, even if it only had dormer windows (Room 12). AC is provided along with LCD TV. Parking is 10 euro per night, a bargain. All in all, I'd stay here again.
