“Can't fault it - lived up to the billing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

A three night break and the Navarra was perfect for what we wanted. A €7 taxi ride from the station and 300 metres from the main Markt square. All the staff spoke perfect English.
Room on the second floor was in the eaves of the roof, so some sloping ceilings had to be coped with, but very clean and looked like it had been recently refurbished. Indeed a number of rooms were clearly being redone when we were there. Great flat screen HD TV, with a bias towards UK channels, but all the major European countries catered for, including Russia. Hardly any sports channels. It was bitterly cold when we were in Brugge and the heating was up to the job, indeed we had to turn it down to sleep! Great free hotel-wide wifi. No password log in. Newspapers and magazines to read in reception.
Great buffet breakfast - choice of 3 fruit juices and 4 cereals plus yoghurt. Classic cheese and ham continental fare, plus the full English available. Several choices of bread and a toaster + all the coffee/tea you could drink. Again great service.
Fitness room in the basement, with one cross trainer and one treadmill, plus several weights devices. Small, but adequate swimming pool with towels and changing rooms.
Can't be faulted. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms on the second floor have sloping ceilings from the roof eaves.

“Perfection!”

Perfection!
If you haven't got time to read the finer details or pick up tips then that's fine. There is nothing about this hotel that doesn't tick all the boxes. Great location. Lovely friendly staff. Great breakfasts to set you up for the day. Stunning hotel. Cute rooms. Great service and really reasonably priced. My idea of a perfect city break hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a 3 night stay (Fri 20th - Mon 23rd Jan 2012) We booked a 3 night stay through a very well known British Sunday paper. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost as Eurostar, transfers, hotel stay with breakfast was all included.
My boyfriend called ahead to make sure we were staying in the original building and mentioned that it was our anniversary. I think the other buildings look out onto the street which is fine but we wanted total silence. However, I don't think they get traffic jams in Bruges anyways and there aren't enough cars passing to bother even the lightest sleeper. Upon arrival and check in the receptionist handed me a gorgeous box of Dumon Chocs and wished us a lovely stay on our anniversary. Yes, I know it was chocolates but little touches like that make the difference.
Our room was clean, cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Everything you need is here. After a walk around Bruges we headed back for a sauna and dip in the pool. Now beware, the pool isn't heated but just having a sauna made up for it. Certainly after lots of sightseeing. So take your swimming gear. They provide plenty of towels and toiletries so nothing is required.
The breakfast room is bright and airy and the buffet is well stocked. From cereal, fruit salad, yoghurts and grains, bowls of fresh fruit, a selection of jams and choc spreads, hams and cheeses, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and beans, loads of different breads (from sliced to rustic batons) and a waitress that would serve fresh coffee and hot water for your teas (normal and fruit/herbal) The waitress should get an added mention here as when we spoke about the hotel she knew alot of the history of it being an old school to the present day and also places to see in Bruges. She was also a very genuinely nice lady who greeted us with a smile every morning.
The hotel itself is stunning. The decor is modern and blends comfortably with the old building. It's fairly grand but not stuffy. Cosy and warm. Marble floors, tall windows letting in light, soft chairs and neutral colours. Very pleasing and chilled.
If you fancy a quick beer but really don't want to go far try Republik opposite. The hotel does have a bar but we didn't get a chance to sample it. The Republik is a funky bar with a mixed crowd. We went for a quick drink on Saturday afternoon and saw young parents with their well behaved children sipping hot chocolate mixing with arty young things. By night the music and crowd are louder and more mature but the atmoshpere still relaxed and friendly. The location of the hotel is great. Only 3-5 minutes easy walk from the main square. Lots of restaurants in the surrounding streets. Near the main sights and museums and only about 8-10 euros from the train station.
If you want to snuggle up for a romantic break then Hotel Navarra is the perfect pace to book. No faults here whatsoever. A leading example for other city break hotels.

Room Tip: Call ahead if you want the main building but honestly I don't think it would make much of a diff...

We love this hotel and have stayed here 3 times before. I have to say this time I am slightly disappointed that we have been put in a room much smaller than we have ever stayed in before. I would have thought that previous records would be checked and if you are a returning guest the standard of room would be reflected. We are already booked in to return here in June as well. Otherwise I cannot fault this hotel.

“Beautifully finished and interesting hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

All you need to know is this hotel really won't disappoint, lovely rooms, great breakfast with lovely fresh bread, nice warm pool and sauna.

The rooms are spacious, have nice bathrooms and a good sized firm bed. King size in ours. There's also a 32" flat screen TV with several BBC channels. Avoid rooms on the main road side if possible as the cobbles are very noisy at 3am.

“Great break - 5*****”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This review is coming from someone who is really quite 'picky' and where things have to be spot on, and I am really surprised to say that I cannot fault this hotel in any area. Everything from the greeting and service received when we checked in to the day we left was excellent. All staff; reception, breakfast waitresses and bar staff were really helpful and pleasant. Breakfast, as most other reviews have commented, is excellent and they cater for absolutely all tastes and likes.

We asked for a quiet room on a high floor, and we were given a room which matched our request which was perfect. It was well appointed and decorated, exceptionally clean and toiletries, hairdryer and mini bar etc were all to hand if we needed them. The hotel is just a few minutes away from the square, lots of cafes, restaurants and attractions and shops. The Hotel really is ideally sutuated and is in my opinion excellent.
Bruges is a really pretty place and it was even more so when we stayed there from 4-7 February as it had snowed and all the canals were frozen over. Although it was a shame we couldn't go on a canal boat or take a horse drawn carriage, it didn't really bother us that much as we walked down the side of the canals and the snow added to the weekend really as it looked really pretty. We were able to take ourselves around by foot ok, we just had to take it steady in a few places because of snow and ice as it was really cold. A lot of the restaurants were very tastefully decorated in readiness for Valentine's Day, which gave the square a really romantic feel. Some of the restaurants offer a good price of 16-20 euros for a 3 course meal, which we felt was a good price.

All in all, a brilliant weekend and we will certainly go back there in the near future.
