“A little way out of town but comfortable, friendly and reasonably priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

The Leonardo is only suitable for visitors with a car. Due to a number of road works in the area the Leonardo was not easy to locate without ignoring a number of no through way barriers. However when we eventually managed o reach the hotel, we found it located in a wooded area with a number of walks nearby. The hotel itself is relatively modern and we found the staff, such as there were, to be very helpful and friendly. The hotel is comfortable and rooms are clean, bright and reasonably sized. I suspect that this hotel is far more popular in mid season, rather than in September, when we stayed there. During our stay occupancy seemed to be no more than 50%.
(The hotel has a number of conference rooms and appears to cater to the business trade for which it would seem eminently suitable.)
The Leonardo has a restaurant but being Sunday, we were unable to sample this. Breakfasts, however were typical of those found in Benelux hotels, concentrating on a variety of fresh breads and assorted cold cuts.
I would definitely consider staying here whenever I return to Brugge in future.

“Family friendly, good value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel in June 2011 and were not disappointed. We had a family room for under 100 Euros per night for a family of four, incl. breakfast. Due to the sunny weather, we enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is on the outskirts of Bruges. We also enjoyed a tasty meal during one the evening and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Great hotel for exploring Bruges!

“Great for an overnight stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

The hotel is situated minutes from the motorway and offers quiet santuary to recoup from a busy day. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious. It could do with a lick of paint in places but for the price its fine.

“Not memorable”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

A hotel for car users only, very close to the Ostend-Brussels motorway, located far away from town and currently hard to reach due to road works. Contrary to the positive experience of most other users, our room was dirty, run down and smelt (an understatement) of sigarettes (we obviously were given a room in the smoker's wing, without being asked in advance). Sound isolation was an issue. We did note the popularity among families and guests with pets. I would not stay here again, knowing that there are better places in town with more value for money.

“Good hotel in a rural setting not far from Brugge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel as part of a long weekend break booked through Leisure Direction as it had ground floor bedrooms which would suit our extended family. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted, the rooms were a nice size with really comfortable beds the breakfast, which was included in the price, was excellent on all 3 days we were there. The restaurant looked very good but we ate out in the evening as it was easier with young children.
The location although a little out of town was idyllic for us and the grand children as it was possible to walk through the surrounding woodlands and across the main road to lovely country park with a nice little cafe/restaurant and adjacent play area for the children. We spent quite a lot of our break here as the children got bored with visiting cities after the first day or so.
The staff at the hotel were really attentive and child friendly and although the premises appeared a little dissapointing from the outside this was more than compensated for by the staff and the internal quality of the building.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the ground floor with a view over the pool and play area.
