Livia is an amazing host. The accommodation is beautifully detailed and very comfortable. Our family of four (two kids ages 4 & 6) were warmly welcomed into Livia’s home. . We arrived just before Easter and what a fantastic time to be in Bruges – overload of chocolates… On our arrival, our children were offered chocolates – it was very exciting for all of us. The kids learnt the chocolates were on offer in the B&B all the time (even breakfast).
We had the top floor room which is perfect for a family – the room is well designed giving parents/children defined space. The kitchen is a great touch for snacks and meals. Breakfast was to die for!!!!! There is more than enough choices and it tastes fantastic. I have read in previous reviews a comparison of Livia to Martha Stewart - Livia is truly the Martha Stewart of Bruges. She is interesting and captivating, patient and kind. The room it self was lovely but Livia made our stay special. She made bookings at a local restaurant (which was amazing) and helped us with our train bookings – she even helped me with the ironing!!!!. She really did go well beyond what we were expecting of a B&B (this was our first experience of this accommodation type).

Location was fantastic too! walking distance to everything (so close to the city center)

My children’s favourite place of our 7 week holiday around Europe was Livia’s and I would have to agree with them. Livia welcomed our children as much as she did us.

I visited Livia's with my wife and two girls, aged 8 and 6. We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The location, building, accommodation, breakfast and host were fantastic. Very stylish! Livia is a wonderful host. We had a wonderful time there and I thoroughly recommend a visit. We stayed in the 'Room With a View'.

We stayed in the beautiful belle epoque suite for 2 nights and fell in love with this b&b and bruges it self.
livia is a fantastic host and was waiting with a smile and plenty of advice for our first trip to the city. she lent us a guide book and made recommendations of things to see and places to stay.
each morning we were greeted with an amazing breakfast in the superbly decorated kitchen with home made jams and juice from livias apples as well as a selection of pastries, cheeses and meats including bacon and of course scrambled eggs. we also got tips on more things to do every morning.
we slept soundly on the comfy beds and were made to feel like part of a family at every moment.
we swore to come back again soon, one of the best weekend breaks either of us have ever enjoyed.

Because we did not know that b&b is different in Belgium: it's a privately owned house, with rental rooms.
We Reserved the place, but did not realize that there are checkin times. Well, take those times seriously, because there's no reception to check you in if you're late. We arrived in the evening, and there was no one inside, the door was locked. Neither the land line nor the mobile was answered.
So we had to search for another place to stay in.
The owner called us back 2 hours later, apparently she had gone out for a dine herself. We thought she could at least have called us earlier, or leave a note, or just answer her mobile...
It was unpleasant. I do realize it was partly our mistake. Just make sure you don't make the same assumptions...
