“Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Nice hotel, good location, lovely grounds etc. Rooms not overly impressive, but clean and comfortable.
Enjoyed a simple but excellent meal in the restaurant.
Parking is confusing as you drive through a large car park in order to get to the hotel- no room to stop and check in and ask where the car park is, the sign indicates that you need to get a pass code from reception to get in. Car park too small, and not enough room for all the cars,
and you are charged for the privelege.
Very expensive though, cant see the justification for these prices, other than they can get away with it. At times Hotels in Leuven are obviously in short supply.

“great place next to the beguinage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

The hotel is at approx. 2 km walking distance from the centre of Leuven. What a nice feeling when you take your breakfast on the terrace: you are next to an impeccable garden in medieval style and you have a view on the surrounding houses dated from the 16 century. The hotel offers interesting weekend formulas and the price/quality rate was very good: a breakfast buffet with all the trimmings, a big and clean room, no noise during the night. Our only negative remark: the night guard at the reception desk was very helpful and friendly (the parking lot in the front of the hotel was full and he explained were we could find a spot for our car) but the two young ladies who had to help the guests with the check-in/out on Sunday morning were apparently unable to smile.

“Despite booking no rooms”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

I had booked 2 rooms in the Begijnhof for friends and me and also got a confirmation of the reservation.
But when we arrived we were told the hotel is overbooked and they sent us to another mediocre 3star hotel.
As reason we were given: the system regularly overbooks, they can do nothing against it - well they could have called or mailed us before we arrived after a 3 hours trip!!!

“Wonderful Place to Stay in Leuven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 April 2011

This hotel is an old convent conveted to hotel and restaurant. The rooms are spare but adequate. The restaurant is world class (there is an adjacent faculty club for Leuven University) and the breakfast room is one of my favorite places in the whole world. Service is generally excellent and the grounds are fun to wander around. The location is near (but not walking distance) to the old city.

“Not the best spot for a stay in Leuven”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

Here it's all about location. The hotel is very well situated, easily accessible by car and adjacent to the Beguinage on a short walk (15 min) from the city center. But hey, you can reach any destination from anywhere in Leuven in about 15 to 20 minutes walk!
The hotel is totally overpriced, rooms are poorly decorated, I had the feeling to stay in an oldfashioned schoolbuilding. The hotel was build in the early 90's and hasn't been refurbished since. The atmosphere is depressed. The rooms on the ground floor are very small, it was cold inside,... This is what you would expect from the better hostel, not from a 4*-hotel.
New hotels are being built in Leuven and hotel chains are discovering the town. It will be difficult for this old lady to stand the rivals. As a visitor I think the more recent hotels are a far better option!
