“Sleepless night”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2009

This hotel is on a main street and has no airconditioning. On hot days avoid a stay here as the only method to stay cool is to open the windows and then the traffic noise will keep you awake. If you want a cold drink, the minibars are kept empty and you need to fill them from reception. Internet would not work either. Staff are unsympathetic.

“Family run, friendly hotel with excellent service.”

I booked this hotel for a group of 40 friends and family. From the outset the hotel handled the booking efficiently and went out of their way to be helpful in every respect in regard to our booking and stay in Leuven. We all found the Binnenhof very pleasant - there was not one single complaint from anyone in the group during our stay. The hotel is different from major hotel chains, having it’s own distinctive and friendly character. All areas of the hotel are exceptionally clean and well maintained, everything works. The bedrooms are quite large and the bathrooms clean and bright. All the hotel staff we met were charming and we enjoyed service with a smile, as an example, the staff on the front desk were very helpful in recommending places to visit and drawing maps and giving directions to many of our group. The breakfast was superb with a wide range of excellent cooked and continental food, even including champagne! The hotel is very conveniently situated just a few minutes walk from the bus/train station and an easy 10 minute stroll into the town centre. I would without doubt stay there again if visiting the city. Leuven is compact, you can walk to most places and it is a great place for a weekend away. There is lots to see, a nice atmosphere, very good restaurants and bars to enjoy, with a wide range of excellent beers.

“average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2009

the hotel was average, but I don't think it is worth the price. The room was average, but in the bathroom there was a leak on the floor.
The hotel was in some kind of appartment building and the entire building was a bit "depressing". From my room the view was towards an office building. This hotel has nothing from the beautiful city of Leuven.
The breakfst was indeed good and even offered champagne.

“Slightly below average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2009

This is an average hotel well suited for families and elderly travellers. I don’t recommend the hotel for business travellers. The hotel has wireless internet and breakfast. They charge for internet (12 Euro for 8 hours) and it works nicely. Breakfast is included in the price and you have a good selection, which will satisfy most Europeans.

The staff is semi-friendly. Not very helpful.

The hotel has a car park below the hotel wish is 12 Euro per day.... Personally I think its a rip off or a "small" city like Leuven.

There is a minibar, but its empty. Drinks are sold in the reception. There is no room service and it’s not possible to eat anything at the hotel except breakfast.

Room are clean. The better thing about the room is the bath room, which is nice and clean. The decor of the hotel is very old fashion and most suited for elderly travellers.

The lift in the hotel is from 1976 - but works.

The rooms you see on the hotels website must be form the time the hotel opened for the first time. The real rooms are of a much lower standard.

Don't expect much if you choose this hotel and you wont get disappointed.

“Great Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2008

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in September. The best thing about the hotel was definitely location. Located close to the train station and close to the centre of the city. Some of the furniture in the hotel was a bit dated, but the room was nice and clean. TV had channels in English. Staff was friendly.
