Great location, helpful desk staff, lovely breakfasts in a lovely dining room/ art gallery.
Room could do with redecoration; specifically, painting. We found the room hot and the fan just about made it possible to sleep. Opening the window was not a good idea. This is a University town and very late night singing and shouting on the street was disturbing. Our biggest problem was the persistent smell in the bathroom. We seemed to get used to it but it was troubling and perhaps suggests a serious lurking problem. This is strange because the bathroom seemed newish.
All that said, there is a lot to be said for this hotel and we would stay again... in a different room.

I really wanted to love this hotel based on all the previous recommendations. The good: the hotel was clean, the staff was outstanding, and the location was excellent. And that all counts for a lot. However, the bad: it was so hot inside the rooms (they were experiencing temperatures in the mid 20's, and did offer free mini bar usage to offset this) and was so noisy (could hear your upstairs neighbour cough and a conversation next door). These two previous problems are most likely due to the age of the building. The staff did allow a room change (from the 3rd floor loft to a 2nd floor), but the noise just increased with this location! I also thought that the room decor was off. The linens were new, but the carpet looked old and worn. I don't know what other hotels are in the area in terms of price, so maybe this is just a really good deal.

Leuven is a stunning city and the Theater Hotel is right in the centre. Parking can be tricky to find due to one-way systems but it's underground and apparently pretty secure. A warm and friendly welcome. Our room here, though large, was dated but it had a pleasant balcony overlooking an attractive street. Soon as they refurbish the room we'll give this hotel top marks.

Located in the centre of Leuven, you can just get any interesting place walking!
Friendly and helpfull staff, nice breakfast. If you arrive by car, there's a car park near, with hotel discounts - informations at the reception desk. If I return to Leuven, the hotel is already choosen!
