I agree with the previous review. We got married at the hotel in 2004. All our guests stayed in the hotel and everyone loved it. We went back this weekend and we were slightly disappointed. The hotel still looks OK but on closer inspection, it needs a thorough spruce up: limescale in the bathrooms, rusty taps, streaked skiting bords. It just all looks a bit tired. Maybe the plan is to do up the old bit, once the new wing is done but then who would want to stay in the new wing. Is not the reason for staying there, that you stay in a historic hotel. They seems to be aiminig more at the business market.
Still the breakfast was top notch and service good. I would still stay there again.
