“lovely hotel in Leuven centre”

We stayed one night in a charming room: a bit more expensive but worth the money. Since we were travelling with a baby and a todler, this spacious room on the ground floor (#5) was very convenient (easy acces with strollers and babyphone could be received in lobby/hotelbar). Babybed with duvet was set up for free. Please print the route planner from the hotel website if you are travelling by car to the hotel: it brings you right were you need to be (we normally use tomtom, but given the other reviews we now used the paper version and it worked perfect). Breakfast was nice as well. Given its perfect setting in the heart of Leuven (5 min walk to the Grote Markt) it's an ideal hotel that I would recommend to everyone. The parkingspace from the hotel isn't big, so perhaps an early arriving is recommended if you would like to park the car there (for free).

Room Tip: Room 5 is quite big with high ceilings and has windows overlooking the garden. Perhaps during the da...

“Recommended for both pleasure and business travellers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We stayed three nights in this lovely hotel located in the city center. Restaurants in a large variety are close by. We had a (a bit more expensive) so called charming room, it was really charming. If you come by car parking seems somewhat complicated (due to the location), but with the assistance of the hotel staff this can easily be solved.

We enjoyed this hotel-loved walking down the cobblestone lane, beautiful antique style, comfortable beds and delicious breakfast! All right in the town center-away from the rowdy students but close to the historic sites. lovely!!!

“Little gem, tucked away in Leuven city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Martin's Klooster hotel is a converted convent in the city center of Leuven. The hotel has an "historic" wing situated in the old convent and new wing adjacent to the convent. The room we stayed in was in the old part of the hotel. The room was very spacious en had some nice period features (wooden beems ceiling, and small leaded windows. The room also featured an fireplace which was (disappointingly) fitted with een electric "fireplace". The room could have done without. The bathroom was had all the essential ameneties and was rather spaciuos as wel. The shower was in the bath, which isn't to my taste, but seeing that we only stayed for 2 nights, it wasn't that big of a problem.
Breakfast was served in a light and very cosy room in the old part of the hotel. It looked out on the inner courtyard. The breakfastbuffet was quit elaborate for an relatively small hotel as this. Large array of cheeses and cold cuts. Several different kinds of bread, buns, and sweets.
The only downside to this hotel (if you can call it that), is that the hotelbar closes at 23.00h, and it has no restaurant. But Leuven has plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. And staff is more than willing to assist you in planning your night out.

To sum up this review, Martin's Klooster Hotel is a perfect hotel for a short break in Leuven.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the historic part of the hotel.

We just got back from an (unfortunately only) 1 night stay and we had a great time. We had booked a cosy room and were given an upgrade to a charming room upon arrival. The rooms are large and very clean. Excellent breakfast in a unique decor. We'll be back!
