We were lucky to pay a lower rate for 2 nights because of a 40% Christmas discount, but I would never pay the normal rate otherwise. We must start saying that the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful at all times and that is very valuable. The breakfast staff was fine.
The cleaning lady was nice, but did not do a good job. First of all, she woke us up at 8.25am. In a way it was our fault because we did not put a "do not disturb tag", but we did not expect to be disturbed when we were staying 2 nights. We got ready and left for breakfast. When we came back, she had 'finished'. Yet, she had only cleaned the sink and almost finished tidying up our bed. She did not even notice she had left one of the pillows on the long table chair! When we arrived, she was using a scented spray in the entrance of the room. None of the waste baskets had been emptied nor the tops/counters undusted.
The underground parking is very good and safe, but too expensive. The normal breakfast price is €18 per person, which is extremely expensive, but we think we got it for a lot less because of the seasonal discount.
The hotel stands in a small shopping plaza and just a minute walk to Muntstraat, a small-cozy street full of good restuarants. Once you arrive at the end of that street, you are already at the Grote Markt! :-) Don't forget to go to the Touristic Information Center and ask for the City Walking route maps, which are very useful.
