“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2010

Well placed 3 minutes from the edge of the town centre. The hotel is poorly laid out with lots of stairs and is only there to service the casino. However the rooms are fine with views over the river. Parking is secure in the basement. Staff are not the most cheerful, but OK. The breakfats is adequate but expensive. The room rates are fair though.

“Not Good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2009

Plusses:
Price was ok - you get what you pay for - I think I got a little less though to be honest
Free Parking

Minuses:
Litter around the exterior of the hotel
Smoky throughout
Staff unfriendly and as other clients have said, you wont feel welcome
Room small (but was clean)
No Fitness Facilities
Location pretty, but not much to see or do unless you are using the casino

I would avoid this hotel unless you are just looking for somewhere to crash and if not staying for anything more than a night - would rate it a 2 star at best

“Pleasantly surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2009

My husband booked this hotel, and when I read the reviews on here, I asked whether we could change our booking. But he said One Night Wouldn't Kill Us, so we went. And I do NOT understand what previous reviewers were talking about. It was lovely. Okay, it shares an entrance with the casino, but the bouncers looked at us and said "Were you wanting the hotel? That way!" and we went in and out with no fuss.

Reception couldn't have been friendlier, and you got a free drink in the casino bar if you wanted one (we didn't take that up, but could have), and an arrangement to have your meal put on your hotel bill.

Room was lovely and large, with a river view, and a little fridge with free bottled water in it. Bathroom big and a really lovely shower!

No air-conditioning and it was warm, but that didn't matter. The only thing I didn't like was the horrid blue lighting in the corridor, but you're only in the corridor 5 seconds. And a lot of steps and no lift so not suitable for those who have trouble walking.

We didn't stay for breakfast, as we thought €12 a bit excessive.

“Hotel tries to keep out the guests”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2008

We booked the hotel for a stay of 2 days, to visit the Ceramics Biennalle in Andenne, a town nearby. Check-in was horrible. Never seen something like this. Because the hotel hosts a casino, every guest has to go through a procedure that takes much more time, and requires much more hassle than entering the US! And after that you have to go through the next security hassle: A guard enters MANUALLY the number that was printed on a small post-it size paper at the security desk. Mind there is a bar-code on this paper! Then there is another small paper to sign. After all this hassle you have made it to the reception desk, now you can check in! The room was small. There were no-smoking signs, but there was also an ash-tray. No smoke-detector. The bed-linnen was well smoked through. Bathroom was not well cleaned: hair of previous guests everywhere. Breakfast would have been OK when staff would pay some attention to their task. On and on stuff was missing at the buffet: knives, orange juice, and so on. You had to ask for it, they wouldn't refill at their own initiative. And if you asked, you got a grumpy look, they clearly didn't like their job. Beauregard tries everything to keep hotel guests outside. Probably the casino is more profitable? Just close the hotel then.

“OK for one night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2008

Room was small and clean, but very smoky throughout the hotel/casino. Good location below the citadel and next to the river. Decent toiletries, but terrible water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was very good. Strange art of bare-chested women in different poses in the hallways. Check-in was a bit of a hassle with their having to take each guest's picture (think it has something to do with the casino). We were able to park in their underground lot for free (great bonus).
