We stayed here in May during our tour of the WW 2 Battle of the Bulge sites . Bottom line: we couldn't have been happier! Although the place was nothing fancy, the service was friendly, the rooms were clean , the internet was free, and the free breakfast buffet was very good. The location is within walking distance of the town square which offers many varied restaurant options . Add to that the ease of meeting up with our superb Battle of the Bulge tour guide, Henri Mignon, ( who is highly recommended and happens to be related to the hotel owners!), and we can honestly say our stay here couldn't have been better! Plus as an added bonus, this is where the WW2 Band of Brothers vets stay when visiting the area, (FYI: our guide Henri Mignon knows them personally), which adds to the overall WW2 experience ! Overall, The Melba is a great home base for WW2 / Battle of the Bulge tours as well as for site seeing.

Anyone looking for a central location with easy access and parking this is the motel for you. Once you park your car you can walk to the Square in a couple of minutes. For the other attractions because it is located on a quiet street it is easy to find and to return to, no worries about traffic etc. There is also reading material in the foyer about the Bulge and a large map with marked details.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Free WiFi, and the usual TV channels.

When we were there the restaurant was closed so can't comment, but the buffet Breakfast was pretty good.

Would have no hesitation recommending to friends.

We stayed in a family rooo (2 rooms, actually) and had plenty of space. The service was good, and the breakfast nice enough.

We experienced a very high level of service including solutions for our special requirements during our 7 days stay in Bastogne. Our room (Family Suite) was perfect for the purpose of 2 adults and 3 children. The staff was English speaking (with a few exceptions) and every staff member we met was very friendly and sevice minded. Breakfast served was better than we expected for a rather small hotel. We did not try the restaurant for dinner but the menu looked fine. Location a few hundred metres away from the main square - meaning that everything was quiet but town centre within walking range. Free parking in the back of the hotel - away from the street but close to the entrance. A family friendly hotel which will also suít couples and business travellers. We had a wonderful stay!
