“Fancy and cool”

The place is a pearl in a nice area. The beautiful más like stone house is in the mid of Stavelot and is quiet. We went for a music festival in Spa (Les Francofolies) just 10 min drive and will come next year. The area is nice and worth a longer stay, especially when u have discovered this house. We had a room on the top floor, 2 bedrooms ( good for families), the room is designed in a chinese style with two xian warriors in original size. The breakfast with a view was fantastic, fresh and with great choices. The owner is very charming and helpful. Nice experience - thank you !

“Looking for something a little bit different?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2011

This is a unique discovery in the Belgian Ardenne. I had spent 3 days scouring Trip Advisor reading through reviews to discover this hotel with no negative reviews. So I booked and gave it a go. We arrived early afternoon and were greeted by Ad one of the co-owners. We went into the delightful garden at the back of the hotel and had a nice cool welcoming drink. We were then shown to our room - an African style safari room with a double poster bed, an enormous bathroom, and a balcony with views of the Ardenne. Quirky, but restful. In fact, a real welcome break for all those looking for something a little bit different. For us, this was ideal, so no complaints at all. Back to the mod cons - parking was free outside and wifi free. Plus, the next 2 days we had a homemade hearty and quality breakfast. Thanks Ad for a peaceful rest bite away from reality for a couple of days. We loved your hotel and we're sure to see you again.

“Amazing and very original!”

We were welcomed into the owner's living room when we arrived for a beer and a chat which was most welcome after driving all day.

It just got better from then on with our room being themed very tastefully and comfortably, all the public areas were comfortable and decorated in keeping with the period of the building. The garden was lovely and accessible to the guests.

And then there was breakfast. Served as a work of art every morning and delicious.

The owner that we met was always around and always cheerful and helpful. The dog was also very, very friendly!

We have not stayed anywhere as lovely as this before and will definately be back.

“Loved the ambiance!!”

We simply loved this hotel!!! Arrived from the USA early evening, after an overnight flight and stopover in the UK. Totally exhausted. We were offered a drink in the woners living room, and had a very nice chat. This hotel makes you feel like you're at home. The rooms are all different, and absolutely beautiful, very stylish. Breakfast was a feast!!! Conveniently located walking distance from restaurants.

“just lovely”

2 Dutch men run the hotel and they welcome everyone as their friend...
They intentionaly kept it small, because otherwise this will cause a lack of service..
the house itself is totally renovated... You can see that it costed them al lot of time (and money..?)j, but the result is unique..
They haven't got a restaurant, but The ardennes are famous for its gastronomy.
Stavelot itself is very nice, with the "Abbaye de Stavelot". This renovated abbaye houses 3 musea. (including one the F1- racing track Francorchamps)
we found a great offer on the Belgian website [--------------]. Has a lot of weekendtrips in the whole BeNeLux.

  • Liked — the owners
  • Disliked — awful presentation of the hotel on some website..
