The owners are friendly and efficient - met us from the car and carried our bags to the room - the rooms are in a separate block near the main building - all very smart and modern - but the full length windows take a bit of getting used to! The restaurant food and service were good with an interesting wine list. The gardens are charming.

freindly, comfortable. Food was spectacular. Could have done with a fridge and a kettle but the hotel staff were only too glad to serve up great coffee. Local forests were great for a walk

The Hotel d'Ambleve, part of the Romantik Hotels Group, came highly recommended to me by friends when I needed somewhere to stay close to Spa in 2002. Since then I have returned every year!

This hotel is unique and it's beauty breathtaking. Nestled in the heart of the Ardennes in Stavelot, it's a tranqill, quiet setting ideal for a romantic or relaxing break. It's an easy drive to Leige or Brussels and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area.

There are 20 rooms set in three buildings, each room is individually styelled to the highest standards. I always opt to stay in the third building, les Jardin des Princes, which is 300 meters from the main building and is a wonderfully renovated house, with each room having wooden floors, cream colouring and the most fantstic bathrooms. My friends prefer the main buidling and room number 8 is a particular favourite for it's sumptious decor.

The restaurant offers the highest quality cuisine and wine list and has such a cosy feel. The garden is the most fabulous setting for an evening drink before dinner.
