“Cheap, nothing too exciting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

This Premiere Classe hotel is located off the highway A3 (E42) passing Luik/Liege and welcomes both pre-booked and walk-ins.

Sign-posting to the hotel from the highway was pretty poor.

The building has three floors. 24 hour reception. A room with a double bed was €49 off season. Local tax amounting ca €2,50 pp and night is added to the price.

The standard room offers a double bed and a small bathroom. No keys, you get a code which is active only during your stay. Free wifi internet.

Good choice for someone passing on the highway seeking alternative to sleep in the car.

“Great Hotel for a "budget" Grand Prix weekend at Spa Francorchamps”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

With many close and local hotels to Spa Francorchamps being blocked booked (year on year) by the Formula 1 teams, their corporate sponsors and respective FIA entourages, this hotel turned up as being the best choice for closeness to the track but also a reasonable cost (i.e. some others were charging more than the cost of the weekend GP ticket and our fuel costs from UK combined!)

Yes the rooms are small, and the bathroom is a essentially a like a large walk-in wardrobe with a self-contained shower, toilet and sink.

But for a Boys-only weekend away to the racing (where you will likely only need somewhere to sleep, shower and shave) this is a great choice if you want to experience the grand prix at low cost.

The hotel is only 35 miles from the track, and being close in proximity to the E42 meant it was only a 40 minute drive and we were at the circuit. So great for general admission tickets when you want to get track for 7.30am when it opens.

I would however not recommend this hotel for honeymooners, couples or families unless it is purely for an overnight stop over, rest break as part of a longer trip.

The hotel rooms were cleaned and had fresh linen (including bed sheets) daily.

There were 8 of us in our party, sharing 3 rooms and no one said "never again".

The Staff were very friendly, and we would use them again for any future grand prix visits!.

Ps: there is a local city tax of €2.50 per room per night that is charged upon arrival.

“Pay the extra and get a better hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2010

Took a trip to Germany and wanted to keep the accommodation costs down. No undesirables hanging around as some have reported, but then with a foot of snow I guess they wouldn't. No attempt was made by staff to clear snow from the paths or (outside) passageways to the rooms and areas of the outside stairways where there was no matting were dangerously slippery. The extremely basic rooms were freezing despite the heaters on full and it was fortunate we had our own pillows and blankets in the car as those provided were inadequate for the weather and comfort.

Having tiny rooms with less than basic furnishings meant the floors were always wet as a result of stepping from snow covered passageways into rooms devoid of entrance mats.

This is the most basic of basic accommodation and I will be spending the extra in future and getting something better. Saying this though, we stayed at a Premier Classe Hotel in Liege (Belguim) on the way out and one in Lille (France) on the way back and both were fully occupied. It seems people are prepared to endure the low standards to stretch their budgets. If you choose to stay in a Premier Classe Hotel, I suggest leaving your luggage in your vehicle, the stench of stale cigarette smoke gets into everything.

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

I stayed her on saturday night and lasted 5 minutes here is the letter of complaint i have sent to the booking agent which tell sits own story:

i have just returned yesterday from a holiday around Europe. Me and my partner visited Germany, Switzerland, and Austria etc and booked all our hotels through *** They where no problems whatsoever as we regularly use your site and find it extremely useful.

However I would like to bring to your attention an incident which occurred on our last night of travel. We we’re travelling back to dunkerque to get our ferry to dover and booked to stay Saturday night (24.07.2010) at the Premierre Classe Liege. As far as I could make out of your website this was a basic stop-over (no frills) hotel with the feedback reflecting this.

However what we witnessed upon our arrival Saturday night was shocking. We arrived to find a run down building and had to make our way past several prostitutes to get to reception. Once inside we showed our booking.com receipt and paid for 49 Euros including city taxes for the room. We then we’re let out a back of hotel and pointed towards direction of room. Concierge locked this behind us.

What we found was shocking. More prostitutes waiting on back steps. Once we passed these there were several drug addicts lying on the floor outside one of the rooms on our level. In the gardens there were over people screaming shouting and a number of dogs running loose barking. It was like a movie scene. Once we opened the door the room. The sight that greeted us was awful. Ok I expected basic but this made Alcatraz look like the Ritz. Stains all over sheets, bad smell etc. window had no lock on it and was open.

My partner was extremely shocked at once she had just witnessed upon arrival and once in the room actually started crying as it was that bad,. It was late and the last night of our holiday and we just wanted to get a nights rest.

As you can see by my details we booked all of our hotels through YOU and will continue to do so. We had lovely accommodation in Switzerland and Germany and could have asked for more. We were not expecting much from the hotel and I have stayed in many basic hostels over the years but this is something else.

We we’re in the room for less than five minutes and walked back down to reception. I knocked on the glass in the back window but was simply ignored. With the people hanging around my partner was absolutely terrified. We walked round the back of the hotel to the car park and tried to find another hotel in the area over the phone. as it was 11.30pm this was a problem and we actually drove to the nearest service station and slept in the car.

Obviously not a nice way to end a holiday and I can assure you that it was not a decision that we made lightly. I would like to make a formal complaint regarding this. I can tell you now that the hotel is obviously a “brass house” as it would be known in Liverpool. The staff are obviously aware and part of this. As we were sitting in the across deciding what to do in the car park we witnessed “gentlemen” leaving and entering the building with “ladies of the night”

The money is not the issue here as it was only 49 Euros for the night. It was the situation that we found ourselves in. Luckily it did not spoil our trip to much as we both have a sense of humour.

I’m not sure what your procedure is but someone needs to visit this place on a weekend at roughly the same time and see for yourselves. How this has managed to get on to the website I do not know

I look forward to your response

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

“Premiere classe is not the best choice!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2008

The motel didn't live up to it's name. The rooms are too narrow, the washbasin was left uncleaned and the worst: it costed me half an hour to have a warm shower, as the warm water was not adjusted and the tap was difficult to operate. The breakfast was also expensive and not worth ordering.
