We stayed here two nights to participate in an event at the next-door Palais de Congrès, and for this reason would not have chosen any other hotel in Liege. The staff are friendly and efficient, but the rooms are probably 15 or more years old and sadly in need of refurbishment. Flat screen TVs are not necessary, but walls without holes are. The beds are firm and comfortable enough to sleep on, but the pillows are much too small. Room service breakfast consisted only of cold cuts, a hard boiled egg, and pastries, but at least was relatively inexpensive for a chain hotel. Our room faced the street, which we at first considered to be a less desirable location compared to the rooms facing the river. Later we found out that we had been lucky, as we were shielded from the commotion of the exhibition center. One patron and hotel visitor was apparently drunk and screaming through much of the night and the hotel did not want to call the police, so anyone in rooms facing the river did not get much sleep.
A short walk across the river leads you to La Capitainerie, a seafood restaurant to which we were sent by the hotel. Unfortunately, despite the hotel's assurances after we specifically asked about the need for reservations, you DO need a reservation for a Friday night, so don't go without one.
