I have stayed in the Alcantara many times on business. The rooms are simple but clean, good sized with good bathrooms. The staff are all very friendly, speak numerous languages and always helpful. The breakfast is excellent, fresh fruit salad, fresh orange juice, fresh bread rolls and pastries, much better than in many chain hotels. Highly recommended.

A truly lovely hotel. The building itself is delightful, the double room that we had was spacious with a fine view into the courtyard. Breakfasts were good, staff were extremely helpful and spoke excellent English in addition to French and, from what we heard, other languages too. Price was good. Location is excellent, very near the centre of Tournai, itself a charming place. Tournai is within easy reach of the coast if you're arriving from the UK by ferry.
