Located close to the towns main square (Grand Place) with its own free carpark it is split into different blocks either side of the vehicle enterance: Room 50 was our allocated resting place, across the courtyard from the reception and breakfast room. Mons hasn't got a lot going for it, but the Grand Place, some 100 metres away is the main area to be, bars and eating places on all four sides and on our visit a Christmas Market and Ice Rink being dismantled.

Old buildings with modern insides: our room was fine with a large shower room, small TV, small wardrobe, table chairs and coffee/tea making stuff. More than adequate for our one night stay, wouldn't have wanted to stay a week though, not really enough storeage or floor space to spread out much.

Breakfast was lovely, Tea or Coffee, usual selection of breads, cheese, ham, sweet stuff, pancakes, cereals, yogurts, fruit, juices etc, etc. Fried eggs on demand: everything else you just help yourself.

Ladies in reception were friendly and spoke good English (I refuse to speak French), giving us a local location map and help with directions.

The hotel is located near Grand place in Mons. It is clean, spacious and quiet. The only thing missing is a aircondition.

Good points- free parking, free wi fi, clean and close to Grand Palace.

Bad points-very small double bed, lumpy pillows, bedside desks each side make for a claustrophobic night. Any noise from courtyard is amplified. Rooms not very soundproof.

Breakfast was poor for price compared to others. Will stay at BW Lido from now on.

My husband and I traveled to Mons for a conference and stayed at Infotel for three nights. As we would check in very late, I emailed the hotel to let them know and was pleasantly surprised to get an immediate response. The hotel itself was another positive surprise, as it felt more than a plain 3-star hotel. The room was spacious (we stayed in an executive double room), clean, and nicely decorated. It felt like it was recently renovated, even though a boiler was still in the bathroom. The hotel--especially the room-- was really clean and there was much sense of privacy, as our room was located in the wing across the reception. The restaurant was pretty small, but breakfast was fine. The best thing about the hotel was its location: it's conveniently located close the Grand Place, which seemed to be the only place to go in the town center.
