“Very Nice Hotel in Mons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

My wife and I with other couple stayed in this hotel four nights in October. Although this hotel is not near train station but situates in very convenient location. A supermarket and fast food restaurant is nearby. The Mons main square is 10 minute walking distance away. There are many restaurants in the square. Our room is not facing street so it is very quiet. Room is very spacious and clean. Although the two twin beds are low but there are comfortable. Free WIFI in lobby area and two computers free for use. The breakfast buffet is included and it is very good in term of quality. The staffs at reception counter are very friendly and real helpful. Over all this is very nice hotel in this little town. We definite will come back if we visit this town again.

“Good value for money.”

Quick stopover on the way to Italy. Nice hotel, clean and great value for money. Paid 79 Euros for a very nice twin room. Underground car park is available for an extra charge of 10 Euros. Breakfast was included and although basic, was adequate. Free wifi in the lobby. The location is also good, near the main square where we enjoyed a fantastic bowl of Moules Mariniere washed down with chilled white plonk. If you need an hotel in this area of Belgium you could do alot worst.

“Mons not enjoyable experience for families”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

We stayed in Mons 1 night whilst travelling through with a car to go to see the Belgium Grands Prix.. Hotel had good car parking, secure, underground. Restaurant was closed permanently. Breakfast Buffet was really good. We had an extra bed for our Son in our room so they put us in the "attic" room, soooo hot, no air conditioning, just plug-in electric fan, had to open windows and got bitten by mosquitos..
Used jacusi, nice.
Went up main street leading from the Hotel towards the main square centre area, well, there was no main street! it had been completely dug up along with the sewer pipes underneath it, which was obviously being replaced. what a stink! unsightly mess, sewerage everywhere, absolutely horrible...
Found Restaurant in main square, picturesque square, lots of bars/restaurants, but spoilt by the fact there were so many locals on drugs/alcohol around the area, not very suitable with children, even when eating dinner inside Restaurant, looking out the window, you could still see unsuitable activities of the druggies and winos going on in the square, never seen so many down-and-outs in my life, will never go back to MONS. sorry...

Room Tip: Avoid the attic rooms, very hot, no air conditioning.

“No AC”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Theis hotel may be a good option for this small city but if the weather is warm you will suffer in the room since there is only a small fan. Free wi-fi is provided in two areas but not in the rooms which i really don't like. The room itself was very clean, the maid service was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. the hotel is located a fairly long walk from the train station but a quick taxi ride at 6 Euro. The walk to the Grand Place is only about ten minutes but did not seem to be in the best neighborhood and there is some major road work going on as mons prepares for their special status in 2015.

Good Points:
Clean, very comfy bed and nice breakfast.
Bad points:
No kettle, poor shower pressure and no Wi-Fi in room...10 euro for wired internet instead.
