“Beautiful Suite- Dicey Neighborhood”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

Location is close to the historic city center and the suite was beautifully renovated, but the neighborhood has homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks and panhandling in area around the B&B. There is a bar just below the suite accommodation, which is very noisy until the wee hours of the morning. The bathroom for the suite does not have a door (would have been nice if this had been mentioned on the B&B website.) Face washcloths were not provided and when we asked for some, hand towels were provided. While the bed was made every day, the sinks and counter tops were not wiped down the entire 5 nights that we stayed there. The trash was only emptied on the fourth day when we left the can directly in front of the door. Truly cannot recommend this B&B.

Thanks for your review. I would like to point out that we are not "close to the historical center" but right in the historical center at 300 m from the Grand Place and the Manneken Pis... In Brussels as in most city centers there are indeed homeless people –unfortunately this exists in our society - but they are not on our doorstep though... Also I am happy to let you know that we have placed a door at the bathroom...

“Excellent! You can't beat it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

We just spent the Easter weekend at La Casa and we loved it. The location couldn't be better, right in the city centre. Very charming house, decorated with a lot of style. The hosts are great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good: orange juice, cereals, coffee/tea/chocolate, wonderfull fresh bread, fresh fruit. As we wanted to sleep late, we chose a self service breakfast so that we could have breakfast whenever we wanted. Everything was prepared for us in the very cosy breakfast room. We couldn't eat all that was prepared for us It is a real privilege to stay in such a wonderfull place. I really recommend it. My girlfirend wants to come back in June so we already booked!!!

“You can't trust it!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2010

I had made a reservation on Lacasa on the Jan. I even got successfual reservation email to comfirm my room. Today I sent a email to double comfirm my reservation. They said my reservation fail.
They olny said no room for me & no any explanation. Nothing worse than that they forged the email to make me believe it's my fault.
You can't trust Lacasa. Image that you are rejected when you travel at Brussels.

“Funky chic b&b”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2010

Great location near the grand place. great continetal breakfast of bread ham cheese brioche nutella coffee juice yoghurt as much as you want, and funky rooms decorated with a bit of style. And friendly service, we were helped a few times on how to get to where we wanted.
Go to the Atomium by tube or tram if you can, its a proper excursion, and after youve done the grand place, which is nice but gets dull after a while, go off piste and go to the flea market. DONt eat at the grand place, we had a hot choc for 3 euros each, and it was powder and water. what a way to disappoint.

“Good location to sites, large room, breakfast okay.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2009

La Casa was a good place to stay, close to the Grand Place and Mannekin Pis, among other sites. The neighbourhood surprisingly seemed a little sketchy, but for only for a street or two. The rest of the area was great and offered plenty of selection for food.

Room was large and fairly clean, although the cleaning of the sheets once a week scared us a little since we don't know what someone has done in our sheets during the previous week! Could use an AC or fan to beat the heat!

staff was very friendly and carried on a nice conversation during breakfast. Food was good but standard meat, bread and cheese.
Overall a good stay and not overpriced.
