We thought we had reserved at the Downtown BXL property (118 rue du Marche au Charbon, right beside La Casa BXL) but we were directed next door to La Casa BXL. The room we stayed in (medina room) was nice, clean and spacious. Staff was very nice and breakfast was good. Breakfast was served next door. No air conditioning so we had to sleep with our window open - caution that there were lots of mosquitos but perhaps due to the rainy weather. Our only real complaint was that there was daily construction within the building (rooms look like they were going to be renovated) during our stay and unfortunately we were not made aware of the construction/renovations prior to our arrival. If you came home mid-day for a snooze (Brussels has very nice nightlife), the hammering and drilling was very loud. The construction started about 9am (just as we were heading down to breakfast). I am certain the rooms will be just fantastic after renovations.
