“Excellent Stay - will stay here again”

Lovely hotel with friendly hosts who go out of the way to make sure you have a good stay. would definitely stay here again. i liked the decor in the rooms, nice big bathroom and handy to an internet cafe and railway station and the centre of brussels. breakfast was onsite and nothing was ever a problem for the managers, very helpful and had good ideas for local activities as we come from new zealand and it was our first visit so their suggestions were very useful. we would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again.

“Close to train station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2009

Very close to train station, we spent a long time finding this, the address is a little hard to find when looking for street signs, the hotel is located on corner of Rue de l'Argonne and Fonsnylaan. Not the best area if your staying alone. Basic rooms, ok as we only were there for a night.

“Very basic, but within walking distance to Midi/Zuid Station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2009

The area outside the station is pretty dubious, and the station and pretty much a lot of places in Brussels smell like pee, which is pretty disgusting.

The rooms are small, but I've seen smaller. Pretty stuffy, even though we tried to keep the window open. Reception was friendly, which kind of made up for the basic room. Towels were provided and changed every day, the trash was cleared as well and they gave us some soap and shampoo.

There were 2 toilets and 1 shower for the whole floor, which kind of made it difficult to estimate what time you wanted to shower. Bathroom was clean, though it was a bath tub so when it got clogged it got a bit gross.

Breakfast was alright, with 2 rolls and cheese or bread or nutella. There were 2 types of cereal, but how much can you expect for breakfast to be included in the price?

Overall it was an OK stay, very cheap, though I'm not sure I would want to stay there again.

“Very basic with everything you need. 2 minutes from Midi station and 10 minute walk to city centre.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2009

I was here on a 2 day holiday to Brussels with one other person in a double room.
This hotel was easy to find and about 2 minute walk from Midi station. It was also approximately 10 minutes from the city centre by foot.
The service was friendly enough, nothing outstanding but for budget accommodation it was acceptable.
Despite being in need of newer carpets and wallpaper, this was a clean and tidy hotel.
The room I had was very tidy. It was quite a small room for two adults and had a small double bed but was comfortable enough. It had a sink, wardrobes, bed side units and a TV. There was also a lift available for use.
This room faced the main road and being accross the road from the railway, could be quite noisy. The window was double glazed and this would block out all noise when closed. However due to it being quite hot, the window had to be left open for fresh air.
Therbreakfast was your typical continental breakfast (croissants, bread, ham, cheese, tea, coffee, OJ, yoghurts and jams) and was very nice. Everything was fresh and the staff were attentive.
The other thing I liked about this hotel was that you could leave your cases in a locked office on the ground floor for a few hours. This was free and it meant that I did not have to lug my case around for the 2 and half hours I had to kill before getting my train.
I can't think of anything negative to say about this place. It was perfect for budget accommodation. It wasn't fancy or updated but it had everything you needed for a short stay and was quite pleasant. I'm not sure that the staff could speak a lot of English, some were better than others. I can't comment on whether this was or would be an issue to others as I speak French but I would say that if you have any questions regarding the city itself, it might be best to visit the tourst information centre.
