“Very basic with everything you need. 2 minutes from Midi station and 10 minute walk to city centre.”
I was here on a 2 day holiday to Brussels with one other person in a double room.
This hotel was easy to find and about 2 minute walk from Midi station. It was also approximately 10 minutes from the city centre by foot.
The service was friendly enough, nothing outstanding but for budget accommodation it was acceptable.
Despite being in need of newer carpets and wallpaper, this was a clean and tidy hotel.
The room I had was very tidy. It was quite a small room for two adults and had a small double bed but was comfortable enough. It had a sink, wardrobes, bed side units and a TV. There was also a lift available for use.
This room faced the main road and being accross the road from the railway, could be quite noisy. The window was double glazed and this would block out all noise when closed. However due to it being quite hot, the window had to be left open for fresh air.
Therbreakfast was your typical continental breakfast (croissants, bread, ham, cheese, tea, coffee, OJ, yoghurts and jams) and was very nice. Everything was fresh and the staff were attentive.
The other thing I liked about this hotel was that you could leave your cases in a locked office on the ground floor for a few hours. This was free and it meant that I did not have to lug my case around for the 2 and half hours I had to kill before getting my train.
I can't think of anything negative to say about this place. It was perfect for budget accommodation. It wasn't fancy or updated but it had everything you needed for a short stay and was quite pleasant. I'm not sure that the staff could speak a lot of English, some were better than others. I can't comment on whether this was or would be an issue to others as I speak French but I would say that if you have any questions regarding the city itself, it might be best to visit the tourst information centre.
