“Everything is great, except maybe the location and noise...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2011

This hotel is located in a residential type neighborhood that gets a little questionable if you go a few blocks in almost any direction. However the rooms are very nice and spacious and clean with wood floors and clean Ikea furnishings. When you arrive, you stand outside a large apartment building that does not look anything like a hotel. You have to buzz in and hope that there is someone at the reception desk to let you in. Once inside, you are led to a small dining room that opens out to a nice patio/garden in the back of the building. There is also a full kitchen if you wanted to bring your own food, and snacks are available all thru the day. There are no keys issued, instead they provide you with a code that you key into to access the building and your room. I had to key through 5 different doors to get to my room! Parking is in the building, but VERY tight, do NOT bring a large car or you will have problems. (Access in/out of the parking area also required the same passcode.) The room itself if very spacious w a large kingsized bed which was also very comfortable. Unfortunately there were only 2 very flimsy, very small pillows which do not fit the king sized bed at all. No extra pillows stashed in the large spacious closet. Strangely enough, there was also no safe to store our valuables, and no luggage rack either. The bathroom was HUGE, with a double sink, shower and a separate full bathtub/shower. The towels were nice and fluffy and the water pressure was excellent. The hotel provided "free" telephone use (up to 10euro) but with no idea of how much a phone call was, I was hesitant to try calling out. There was a flat screen TV, with several channels in English, French and German, so it was easy to find something to watch. Breakfast was excellent with a selection of sliced deli meats, breads, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, fruit, juice, coffee, teas, pastries and hard boiled eggs. We sat outside on the terrace with several families, including young children. We had a poor night sleep however because we could hear our neighbors thru the doors because of the hard wood floors. Also, our room was on the other side of the kitchen so unfortunately we heard all the banging/crashing of breakfast prep in the early hours of the morning. One thing they hotel offered that I wish we had taken advantage of (but didn't have time to) was their bike rentals. But we arrived later in the afternoon and were tired from a long drive. Also, it is supposedly "easy" to catch a bus (major bus stops just around the block) to the city center or to the EU buildings. We tried a suggested restaurant just down the street for dinner which was very nice outdoor dining, but also very expensive for the amount of food. I liked the hotel, but it just was a little too out of the way. I would recommend only for work travelers, and not really tourists.

Room Tip: Do NOT stay in Room 3 on the first floor!

“Wish we had more time here, it was great”

Housing Brussels is a unique little treasure. Be sure to bring a map - Brussels is impossible to navigate without one.

Staff here were great, very pleasant. My husband and I only had one night here and spent most of the day sightseeing and all of the night out. We probably only spent a few actual hours here and they were sleeping but we loved this place so much that we tried to stay longer. They didn't have availability, so we left as scheduled.

We had the HUGE two bedroom apartment across the street. Awesome balcony, full kitchen with washing machine and more. Super awesome!!!

“Well worth a visit”

The reception and breakfast room have a typical small hotel feel but are very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. However, the room had more of the feel of a serviced apartment rather than a hotel room. Our room, comprising living/dining area, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, was in a separate building a minute or two's walk away and was very comfortable, clean, spacious and warm. Excellent value for money.

Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge even with a map. If you have a large car getting into and out of the underground car park is quite a squeeze but once in, there is plenty of space.

The nearest Metro station is 15 minutes walk away and the walk to Grand Place is 45 minutes or more, so if you do not have much time or don't like walking check out the bus routes for getting into the historic areas of the city.

“Excellent, you will be hard pressed to find better for your money!”

We stayed here for two nights and were delighted with the accommodation. Ok it is a little way from the centre of Brussells but we walked to Grand Place and would have missed a rainbow in a fountain, the parrot in the park and all sorts of architecture if we hadn't. We also travelled in on the metro - more like 15 mins from the hotel than the 10 advertised but for the same price the bus is nearer and more convenient.
The bedroom was immaculately clean if on the small size but the sitting room allocated to three or four bedrooms was bright and spacious with internet access and widescreen tv. The idea of a communal kitchen with snacks, fruit and hot and cold drinks available at any time was a lovely touch. Continental breakfast was an assortment of cereals, bread, rolls, ham, cheese etc unlimited tea, coffee and fruit juice. For value for money you would be hard pressed to find better - oh and I forgot to mention the friendliness of the staff and the bonus of free parking in the underground car park.

“Excellent! Wonderful Accomodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

We just returned this afternoon from our stay in Brussels. We were in an Apartment for 3-4 people. It was my husband, my 3yr old, my 4 yr old, and me.

The apartment was gorgeous, spacious, comfortable, and well decorated. It had everything we needed and more! There was an even a small laundry machine with a dryer.

The balcony/veranda was great and the courtyard was beautiful to look out onto.

The wireless internet was fast and easy to use and the hotel was in a great location with a supermarket with Post services only about 2 blocks away on Leon Mahillon.

The free continental breakfast was perfect for us. With two small children, you can run into problems but there was always something my children liked. The croissants were delicious and they had many things available like luncheon meats, quiche, fresh rolls, a variety of cheeses (including feta), hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurts, and more. The 24 hour free snack kitchen was a godsend. Much easier to run downstairs late at night for a banana than have to go looking for an open shop.

There is also a small park/playground literally a few steps outside the building, which my girls loved.

There are two parking areas and we were very happy with the outdoor parking security as well as the building security. The hotel staff were very friendly. I don't speak French but the lady that first helped us spoke both Spanish and Italian so using a mish mash of both we managed to communicate. The young gentleman at check in did speak fairly good English.

While its not in the city centre, it is VERY easy to get to the centre. The 29 bus heading to De Brouckere heads right there and is about a 5-10 minute ride. From the next to last or last stop, its a short walk to Grand Place.

The Atomium and Mini Europe are very easy to get to also. (64 bus to Chazal and then the 23 tram to Heysel (last stop).

We bought the JUMP 1 Jour (Day) pass and could use them all day long for bus, tram and Metro. For groups of 5 there is the Group pass which you can get at a ticket kiosk.

Our stay here was SUPERB!

I cannot rave enough about this place!
