The hotel looks run down from the outside. It is near to all the sights but is in a dodgy area. We were lucky enough to have a room on the top floor (6th floor) which had already been refurbished. The room was ok but I did see into rooms on other floors and they looked disgusting. The renovations were being done on the floor beneath us which meant being woken up at 7am by the builders' noise. On our last morning it meant taking an icy cold shower - when I mentioned it to the guy at reception he shrugged. The breakfast is very limited. The lower floors of the hotel seem to be a refugee hostel, it is intimidating even though we didn't have any direct problems. I would never stay here again.

NEVER EVER EVER STAY HERE!!!! worst hotel experience if my life. Rooms and entire hotel were beyond disgusting and dirty, lamps broken in room it looked like someone was murdered there. The first morning when we went down to have "breakfast" which consisted of stale bread and coffee, when we went back to the room the maid was cleaning it so we told her it was ok she didn't have to finished, I went into my purse which wa hidden behind my suitcase in the corner of the room under my desk and noticed that my camera was gone, just the case was left. I looked at the pictures on my camera that morning and put it away before breakfast, the maid was the only one in the room. Fifty euros was also missing. We told the manager who was extremely rude and unhelpful so we called the police who did nothing because they only spoke French and said they were not allowed to search the hotel. They did not refund us of any money and said that if we were going to leave (which obviously we were) that we had to be out in 10 minutes so they could clean the room, then proceeded to laugh at us. DISRESPECTFUL CRIMINALS! NEVER STAY AT THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ROBBED AND THEN TREATED TERRIBLY.

Terrible experience during an otherwise terrific vacation.
No hot water on the arrival night and the next morning. No heat at all during the first night (beginning of April).
Loud renovation works started early on Saturday morning, and again at 7 a.m. on Monday (woke up thinking there was an earthquake!).
Unfriendly receptionist (different from the one who greeted me on arrival). He offered me a discount of 5 (five) Euros –less than the price of a good beer at the pub next door- for the misery I went through! The management doesn't seem to care about their customers since I've got no reaction to my complaints.
It’s a pity such great location is not matched by minimal service quality but you can get better conditions near the Grand-Place within the same price range.

just come back from short break , I can totally recommend this hotel,our room was very clean and cosy, nothing was too much trouble,
Right in the middle of everything ( metro , bus , restaurants , cafe ) plus walking distance from the Grand Place.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and of course they spoke english.
