I was a bit worried about this hotel after reading some reviews here. Perhaps that's why I was satisfied with it.
60e for a double room (I believe it was a special offer for Christmas) with character; this is not a design hotel, but an accommodation that tries to bring back the glory of old style hotels. Something that it achives somehow. Ok, you won't find much glory anymore since things are not new and shiny now, but the feeling is still there and they do their best to keep it clean and in good conditions.
For what I read here, you can have bad luck and get a not so nice room, or even a better one. I guess it's not a bad choice if you are lucky.

Hotel is pretty standard really. Would say it's on par with a Marriott hotel. The room was quite spacious and clean etc.

To be honest nothing really stood out as it was standard really for a 3-4* hotel but at £55 a night rate on expedia it was spot on.

Location was very good right next to the Metro. To be honest though Brussels is pretty dull! We only had 2 nights here and as we arrived early on day 1, we jumped on an open top bus to kill some time before check-in. In that time we actually managed to see all Brussels has to offer!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was not so bad.

The hotel is not stylish, nor a "boutique hotel" at all: it has nothing special, furniture is quite old and the common spaces stink of smoking. But the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the bed is REALLY comfortable, I had wonderful sleeps.
The location is perfect to visit the centre, but you will need a taxi to go to the European quarter (not a problem, no more than 15 minutes during rush hours).

I recommend this hotel if you don’t have to spend too much time in your room but you only need a good bed, and if you are traveling in a budget.

Just one more tip: the breakfast is definitely not worth the price, but the staff is very nice and if you only want a tea you can have it without paying anything. If you want something more, there is a Delifrance nearby, where you can have your coffee and pain au chocolat… :)

First of all, lower your expectations - it is not a 4 star hotel definitely. There is no special charm to this hotel, no excellent features - like highly friendly personnel, special design or nice views. The hotel is perfectly neutral.

Nevertheless, it is a perfect place for a touristic stay in Brussels. We did not use the subway at all, because the hotel is just in the middle of all attractions and in hand's reach to Royal palace and the old town of Brussels. The main cathedral of Brussels is just around the corner and you can hear the church bells in the morning (not during the night).

It is located on one of the mainroads with a lot of traffic, but it was not very disturbing at night. The room was surprisingly spatious, very clean and nicely furnished. Nothing special, but also nothing negative to say at all.

I would definitely return to this hotel, because it provides a fair value for the price (EUR 70 for a double room) and is truly perfectly located.

No restaurants in the area, so I would suggest you to go to the district of Boerse (across the Anspach boulevard) - 7 minutes -and explore the bars and plenty of restaurants, favoured by locals.
