“JEWELRY AND MONEY STOLEN FROM LOCKED ROOM”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

Do NOT stay at this hotel!!! I had $1,000 worth of personal items and cash stolen from my LOCKED room while downstairs at breakfast for 15 mins. The workers at the hotel were the only other people with access to my room. The hotel did NOTHING to remedy the situation, except offer me a free night stay. They tried to blame the incident on me saying we did not shut the door properly, but as the police noted, the door locks AUTOMATICALLY when shut. Stay at Hotel Agenda Midi and run the risk of having your valuables stolen!!!! Shady location and shady hotel.

“Decent hotel, run-down neighborhood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

We were were rerouted to Brussels by the great volcano scare of 2010 and just needed a hotel near the Eurostar station--the Agenda Midi is basically across the street from it. (My kids loved watching the trains from the window.) The neighborhood is not nice, although it never seemed dangerous to me (I'm tall and male but was with small children), and we didn't hear much street noise. The hotel is a standard small European urban hotel--small rooms and narrow hallways, but tidy enough. The staff was pretty helpful, and breakfast was plentiful and fresh.

“Great location for Eurostar station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

This hotel was fine - that sounds bad, but I would stay there again. It's very close to the Eurostar station, so handy if you're not in Brussels for long. It's an easy walk to the Grand Place, the rooms were fine and it's not too procey.

On the negative side, we did find that the cleaning of the room was not excellent (although certainly not the worst I've ever stayed in), and it is next door to a sex shop - if I was to stay in Brussels on my own, I'm not sure it's the location I would choose.

But on the whole, the hotel is fine and value for money.

“Surprisingly nice place with very friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2010

This hotel doesn't look that promising from the outside, the principal attraction being that it is just a minute or two walk from the Eurostar station in Brussels.

But the moment we walked in the door we where impressed by the friendly staff, and once we negotiated the tiny winding staircase (the lift is tiny and only fits two people) we were surprised at the smart, clean, well equipped rooms with comfy beds. And there's free WiFi throughout the hotel.

We left early the next morning, and the staff were only too happy to serve breakfast at 6am (usually breakfast starts at 7am)

All in all highly recommended. Would stay again if I were to visit Brussels again

“Really Enjoyed this Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

We arrived in Brussels at around 9PM by train. We were quickly told that it was a bad area and pickpockets were abundant in that area especially at night so we started walking away from train station to find somewhere to stay quickly. We saw a giant carnival in full swing going on and then spotted a hotel right near it. We went in and the delightful man at the front counter said he'd show us the room first (we hadn't even asked to do this) and so we went up the quirky elevator and saw the room. They have very beautiful rooms at this hotel. Very darkly decorated but really comfortable and clean. The bathroom is what stood out to me, tiny sparkly blue tiles all over the bathroom, it was very nice. The whole place appeared new.

He let us have a double for 80 euro (possibly because of our late check in because I think the board said over 100 euro...?). It was one of the better nights of sleep we had in our 6 week backpacking trip. The room had a very clean bed with a soft comforter, private bathroom, television, and air conditioning. He offered a street view or backside view, We took the backside and it was very quiet even while a carnival was blasting on the otherside!

Additionally, there was free internet and a continental breakfast with meat, cheese, bread selection, boiled eggs, coffee/water/juice, and sweets.
