“I liked it :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I lived here for 3 months as a volunteer intern and loved it. Internet access often crapped out, but wifi was still available if you had a laptop( ground floor, best spots for connection are beside the computers, in the bar, and if you go to the back lounge area, the far far corner gives you another wifi access that is not the hotels, but signal is strong :P Also, there is a plug there.

Many people complained about the self serve kitchen being closed, however that was because it was only open between certain hours in the evening, info at front desk :)

The breakfast food was always pretty good and the kitchen lady is much into Bio/organic food and tried to have in to serve as much as possible.

From the 3 months I spent there, it was great, rooms where cleaned daily, food was fresh, most of the staff was very nice, sometimes it got really loud, but that cant be helped when a group of 50 teenagers are spending the night there!
Location is pretty good, close to everything, however I wouldnt recommend walking around late at night alone. Anywhere in Brussels really. And keep an eye out for pickpockets as with anywhere else.
I would stay there if travelling there again.

“Good hostel - but no extras”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

This hostel is great on so many levels. The rooms are fantastic and clean, and the location is good (being only a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station). Unfortunately there is little beyond the basics. For example, there is usually only one person on reception which makes checking in a very, very slow process. The self-catering kitchen is apparently closed, without explanation or apology. There is no really lounge area, except for the bar which is only open from 7pm-10pm. The 'menu' consists of only 3 meals, of which only 1 is available - again, without explanation. The wifi is free, but unusable.

This hostel is great for those who need a room, and nothing more. If you are used to hostels with good services and a more social feel there maybe better hostels elsewhere in Brussels.

“Very good hostel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

We stayed in a room for 4, with bathroom. What to say?! Very nice decorated, clean room. And also the bathroom, that made it possible to one person take a shower while another uses the sink and mirror. The breakfast is very good (juices, coffee, tea, bread, cheese). It's very near the metro station (10 min walking). The staff is friendly, there are computers with internet access in the lobby and also a safe luggage room, where you can put your luggage in separate cages.

“Great place if hostel is all you need :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

My partner and I stayed here in June this year and made our booking online from Australia based on the pictures and previous reviews. We were backpacking through Europe on a budget and this place was really great to us! The older staff were very helpful, though the young staff were slightly less attentive (as can be expected) but still useful.
The rooms are simple and clean with cupboard space, a desk and bedding. We asked for a double room (with doble bed) and got two singles pushed together haha but we made do. The bathroom was acceptable and just looked like your average shower at home, no serious mold that I could see. We also had a nice window sill with a nice view which made it backpacker romantic.
The buffet breakfast was GREAT with breads, yogurt, eggs, fruit, cereals, etc and the eating hall is beautiful with a gorgoues garden outside. Other things include: ping pong table, cute little bar and courtyard, computers with internet, free wifi in the lobby, little library and laundry (great for backpackers). The hostel also had lots of maps and brochures about the area.
We had no problems staying here and think it is great if a hostel is all you need on your travels!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that gives you a view of the circular garden at the front of the building. It just ad...

“Fun Cute Hostel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

This is basically a definition of hostel. The rooms are like dormitories but very big which is nice. The hostel also has its own bar/ resteraunt and the bar tenders are helpful when trying to decide which kind of Belgian Beer you want to sample. There are also computers to use free wifi and a lounge in addition to a kitchen and laundry room. We had a problem checking out however, there is supposed to be someone at the desk 24/7 however there was no one there when we were trying to check out for an early train and had to shove our keys under the grate but we almost missed our train before we decided to do that.

Hello,

thank you very much for your nice comments.

There is no reception from 1am to 7am but there is no problem if you want to drop the keys on the desk.

We hope to see you again on the HI network.
