“Well located hotel with all the expected basics”

Hotel is well located in city center, good for walking to shopping, historic as well dining areas. We liked that this Marriott is an old structure building renovated inside. Everything is new there including lobby, exec. lounge as well as rooms. Rooms are rather small comparing to other Marriotts we have been however all necessary was in there. Nice design, good bed, big flat TV. Rooms have also new carpeting which causes small fibers going out, so if you are, as I am, allergic take this into consideration. Bathroom is spacious with air system which is nowhere to be switched off and if you are light sleeper this you may find disturbing. Lounge is located on the ground floor adjacent to the lobby, so there is no exclusivity feel we know from places where there is a dedicated executive floor. Breakfast was very good in lounge and evening canapes etc. were also OK. Food in the Grill, hotels restaurant, was also very good and considering prices we paid outside in the town also good value.
Summarizing for the weekend price we have paid we found Marriott to be perfect choice for Brussels and may consider it again if coming back.

“Terrible experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Snobbish asian receptionist at check-in and it was my worst experience ever with the Marriott, shame on Marriott brand name! Just terrible and I will never return. One of female receptionist was too busy to check her mobile phone while I'm checking in, very poor staffs at the check-in. BAD START!

Very rude bell boy at the lobby who named Joe? and super busy and very tired executive lounge staffs who never smiles, housekeeping are also terrible. Ever cleaned shower tiles? BAD STAY!

I feel very sorry for poor HR management of this hotel and they should carefully re-check. I will never come back this hotel unless I must and I will do my best for put it down this hotel's reputation. BAD FINAL!

“Great hotel, great location”

After arriving in Brussels via Charleroi airport my wife and I were greeted at the hotel by a very nice receptionist who was amused we would be coming to Brussels during such a cold time of the year! However he directed us to some of the sights we should see and circled them on our map for our ease. The room was as to be expected from a Marriot great big bed, spacious room and enormous bathroom! The hotel is conviently located with a metro stop practically right outside the front door...and a McDonalds (lol, go figure)! We walked to the majority of sights to see in Brussels, like the Grand Place and Mannekin Pis. If you've not been to Brussels you should totally come! They combine the best that all of europe has to offer, beer to rival the germans, food as good as the french, coffee to rival the Italians and the chocolate...OH the chocolate is just fantastic!! And you must of course have the waffles! All that being said the Marriot is a great hotel to enjoy all of this!

P.S. The Nigerian gentlemen who cooks the omlettes for breakfast is fantastic! Easily the best omelette i've ever had, and not just for a hotel, in my entire life!

“Very Good well located hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We return each year for an annual conference, on the first Friday of February. We return beacuse this is a very comfortable hotel that gets all the important things right from an efficient front desk to spacious rooms to Oliver who makes sure that laptops really do communicate! and its good value and with good restaurants nearby and Grand Place only 54 minutes walk away

Room Tip: Book a room on an upper floor

“Be aware if you book this hotel for 3 people!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

WE booked this hotel with our eurostar. We were 3 friends ( age range 40). We needced somewhere very central. In this respect the hotel was perfect. The hotel had all that a Marriots hotel. Claudia a Brazialian lady was extremely helpful The probelm was that we book for 3 adults and when we saw the 3rd bed we couldn't believe. There was no way an adult could sleep on it. It was like a meter long.. We called teh manager ( who I cannot remember the name but I know he was from Philipinnes or Thailand) He told us that the bed was the only one and when we tried to explain that there was no way an adult could sleep there he said: this is a "BUSINESS HOTEL" not a touristic hotel. I was amazed by his comments. the hotel was full of families and peopel just like us. i din;t see anyone that look like they were doing asny business as it was a weekend in laste December!!! In the end the manager offred us free breakfast for the inconvinience. Two of us ended up sharing one of the bed. The deal was good as teh breakfast was FANTASTIC!!! the chef A EXTREMELY POLITE MAN from Nigeria was a real professional

The bar was also great and again the guy who served us was pleasant and professional!!
In resume the hotel is good, perfect location. NEGATIVE :negatat night was very very NOISE
BE AWARE if booking a TRIPLE room : you might end up having to share a small bed with someone!!
