The hotel is well situated in the Louise/Luiza district, just a 5 minutes walk from the Metro station and a 20 minutes walk from the centre of Brussels. If you're travelling by car, it's very easy to find a parking place in the neighborhoods of the hotel: parking is free from 18.00 to 09.30 and it's a cheap alternative to the hotel parking (20 Eur/day) if this schedule fits your needs. Don't even think of leaving the car parked from 09.30 to 18.00 without paying the ticket: they're extremely efficient at spotting it and fining you. The hotel is very clean and generally cosy although it's pretty small.
The hotel services are basic and include free wifi (30 minutes maximum) only in the hotel lounge. The hotel has got a relatively small restaurant that, as far as I could see, was understandably almost always empty: around the hotel you can find many Belgian and international restaurants of different price ranges and you would also spare yourself the claustrophobic experience of having dinner in such a tiny table.
The room was pretty small, with modern and minimalistic furniture, TV set and minibar. The room service was very quick and efficient and the room was always perfectly clean. The only thing I missed was the "do not disturb" sign: the cleaning personnel used to knock at the door even before 09.00 in the morning. Maybe they're used to working guests, but if you're a tourist and you're in a light sleep, chances are they will wake you up. The bathroom was relatively large and recently renewed. Unfortunately we had a little problem with hot water: our room was in the fifth floor and I had to open the faucet at least 5 minutes before taking the shower if I wanted to take a hot one.
The hotel was a typical NH hotel but its breakfast was the poorest I ever tried in a hotel of this chain: there was a selection of different kinds of pastries, including industrial waffles, some sliced ham, salami and cheese, fruit (most of which was canned), fruit juices and yoghurts. Hot drinks are served by a self service machine and the only personnel present in the breakfast room is the waiter asking which your room number is. If you're not looking for something good to eat and, instead, you just want some early morning privacy, you're out of luck as well: the breakfast room is very small and the tables are very close to one another.
In conclusion: the hotel is clean, decent and very well situated, especially if you're looking for a good place to start your journeys from either on foot or by car. Considering Brussels' prices, it can't be considered expensive, although I think that it deserves one star less (3) than it currently has (4).
