“Nice special weekend stay promotion!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We booked a special weekend stay promotion in january 2012 for an Avenue Room but were by our surprise upgraded to a non-renovated junior suite.
For a promotion price of 99 eur/night for two of us was it a bargain.
Quiet "private breakfast" in the biblotheque on the first floor, perfect serviced.
Very good breakfast, nice view from our spacious room at the 18th floor.
Be aware that the hotel is in renovation but this offer gave us really nothing to complain.
Normal pricing is "high" for breakfast and the hotelparking, but for both are lots of alternatives nearby.
Location is perfect near Louiza, Sablon and museum.Shopping, restaurants and metro around the corner.
The management knows that the non renovated rooms cannot reach the higher price levels but by doing it this way it is an interesting deal for this location and service. Thank you!

Room Tip: The higher, the better. We had an upgraded junior suite, 1822, 18thfloor

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in October on a city break we had booked through late rooms. com and they had messed up our booking. We were exhausted just flown in from Cyprus travelling all day to be told there was no booking. Fortunately for us Saad Boumraya ( senior guest relation manager ) was on duty and sorted it out for us my husband gave him the confirmaion we had recieved from late rooms and after about 20 minutes we were sorted Saad upgraded us to a suite because of wait.
Our room was on the 19th floor fantastic view 2 big picture windows.
The room was very clean and there were complimentary dressing gowns and slippers.
The shower was fantastic with steam room also.
The bed was fantastiacally comfortable the pillows lovely.
We had use of the executive lounge and snacks and drinks were great. There was a lovely waiter did not get his name who looked after us very well kept me supplied with red wine once he realised that was our tipple.
Note what other guests have sais about staff but we found all the staff we encountered helpful and friendly nothing was too much we even borrowed a travel plug adapter from reception.
It was within easy walking of the metro and the palace and lots of nice restaurants nearby.
I would definately stay here again in fact thinking of taking my daughter over shortly.
Saad certainly looked after us very well and he was very professional, friendly and a gentleman.

Room Tip: get the highest floor spectacular views across city

“Avoid it/ A éviter !”

We booked this hotel for New Year's Eve as it was close to the place where we were having our New Year's party.
We have been really disappointed by this hotel and we don't recommend it.
First of all, the customer service was brutal: We checked in around 7pm and had to queue for 10 min as there were a lot of people waiting for check in and other guests skipping the queues. The employee we checked in with (Beryl) only said 3 things to us: "good evening", " please sign here" and " this is your room". She didn't say anything about breakfast ( brutally expensive 32.75 euros/pers), about check out or the fact that the bar was closed during that period. Not even thanks or Happy New Year!
Same thing at the check out. The employee (Eddy) just said " ok, that' s fine"!!!!!
Do we owe them for going to their hotel???

Secondly, our room (18th floor) was old and definitely needs refurbishment but the view was nice. We had asked for a double bed but got twin beds. We saw it when we came back at 3 am so too tired to change. The room looked clean but it's not a deep cleaning as the kettle was still full of water from previous guests.

There are plenty of other hotels in Brussels so unless you don't have choice, go to another one.

Dear Fm_35566,

I would like to apologize for the experience you encountered. I understood from your review that it was very busy at check-in, but this shouldn’t be an excuse for not being courteous. We will definitely address your case to our team so lessons can be learned from it to avoid this from happening again in the future.

With regards to the rooms we acknowledge that our rooms need refurbishment, and we recently started with extensive renovations. If all goes well the first new rooms will be available as from April.

Once again truly sorry for the discomfort. We hope we’ll have a chance in the future to make up for this!

Sincerely,

Nicolas Verbrugghe

“Good location and Good Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

I like this hotel and have stayed there a few times now. It has a nice art deco style to it. I did not use many of the facilities so I cannot comment on that. The staff at check-in and for room service were friendly and helpful. The rooms I stayed in were nice and comfortable. My only concern was that on one occasion when it was quite windy I felt as if the main window in the room was going to blow off! I made mention of this at the reception desk and the staff made note to look at it as a matter of urgency.

“Cosmopolitan Convenience”

This used to be the Hilton property, and it still plays in that league. The lobby is large and modern, with no bar or food service. There was a small chilled take-away food service with sandwiches for those odd-hour munchies. The desk staff is professional and multi-lingual. The porterage staff is limited, so bag handling is a bit slow. The room was large and business-comfortable. The bath was well equipped, but had a persistent case of water hammer. Breakfast had an extensive array of hot dishes, cold cuts, breads, yogurts and cereals, along with a cappucino machine. However, the waiter service for coffee and tea was slow enough that we went searching for the pitchers ourselves. The hotel location is excellent, with many restaurants in various price ranges within a 5 minute walk, and one block from the Metro station.
