“Hell in 10000 colors! Broken, sleepless, offensive.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Great hotel for a crazy photo or two but if you want sleep, lovely staff and working facilities this hotel is not for you.

The hotel is everything you are told it is. Over the top, eccentric and in its own way worth a visit. We were lucky to find a super cheap rate for the room and I don't think the staff were particularly happy about it, "I didn't set the price you did. If its too cheap set it higher." as a result we got the worst room in the hotel.

I'm use to the narrow one luggage at a time elevators you find scattered across Europe. The room however did not feel much bigger. The wall deciding the rooms had a HUGE gap in it, the bed was swished right against the heater which was broken (ran hot all night), and the bed it's self was one of the smallest double beds I have ever seen.

The list of broken room facilities include; the hot water, the phone, the heater, and the bathroom door (which you had to hip and shoulder to get out every time).

The real Drama started at night. Located above the main street the noise was incredible. It honestly sounded like the window was wide open because every noise would drift right in.

“Cheap and Cheerful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Stayed 3 nights over Christmas 2011 and found the room to be clean and quiet. Breakfast was continental but we got extra croissants and coffee when we asked. Was very apprehensive having read reviews on this before but I've no idea why people were complaining so much. The staff were fine although it helps if you at least try to speak French rather than expect them to speak fluent English. It's in a great location near the Grand Place. There was a problem with the heating but things happen and it didn't effect my stay.

“Not Organized”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

The lobby is very neat, the rooms are not. The decorations are cool at first, but there's just so much of it, after awhile its dizzying. The hallways are very narrow and there are a lot of stairs to manage with luggage. We had to go to 4 different rooms (3 which were not cleaned and were suppose to be and one they sent us to which was under construction!!!!!) before we were told to just set our luggage down and the room would be cleaned in about an hour. NONE of the doors on any of those rooms were locked, most were wide open when we arrived. The bed is very uncomfortable, the sheets wouldn't stay on, and the comforter was over sprayed with some sort of cologne. Our lamp lights were burned out and the room was very noisy....you can hear everything. It is in a great location. Hopefully you'll be so tired from walking around that all the decor and noise wont bother you. The wait staff was pleasant during our stay, just not very organized.

“Fun to see, not to sleep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Hard to find, got very lost, bad directions via e-mail. Good location, near lots of food and the Grand Place, which makes it easy to find if you happen to know where that is… Interesting building, decorated in “Mozart” style which is...interesting. Supposed to look fancy but mainly just cheesy. Receptionist was not warm, but spoke English. Was given no information about hotel, ie check in/out time, wifi, breakfast, etc. Classical music played all over the hotel until past 11 PM, and we could easily hear it with our window closed. Not even good classical music. Very old building, from the 1600’s, so it has “charm.” Our room looked onto a weird patio hallway thing, but it made it seem like the window faced just a hallway because you couldn’t really see the sky. Our room had a loft with a staircase where two twin beds were (fairly comfy), and a daybed was below. Bathroom was fine, room was fine in general. Very thin walls and windows and doors, so I heard every movement of everyone. I even woke up and asked if my sister was ok in the middle of the night because I thought she was talking and moving around, but she was sleeping and I was hearing others around me clear as day at 4 AM! Breakfast was a piece of baguette and a croissant and tea/coffee, but included in price. Their normal price for our room is supposedly 130euros, but we paid 75 via Booking.com. I don’t think it is worth 130 in the least, barely worth 75, but I think Brussels is very expensive in general for hotels. Not sure about internet. Just fyi, the building is crazy confusing to navigate inside, but kind of fun! Like a maze, stairs going every which way and tiny passages. It doesn’t help that everything is decorated so you cant always tell what is a door and what is just wall! Glad I got to experience it, but not a good stay really.

Room Tip: Only a few rooms have elevator access. Maybe back rooms would be quieter.

“Bugs in awful room - terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

I spent two days there, the bed was terrible, I have several alergic areas over my body from the bugs. Terible experience, never ever will I go there again.

Room Tip: Just skip Mozart, never book it
