Upon our arrival we were greeted at reception by the lovely, and very French, Marion who made the 3 of us us feel welcome.
Our room was 326, split level, double bed on one level, 2 singles on the other affording privacy for each of us 3 males. It overlooked the flea market - the early morning noise from the market set-up woke us up. Moral of story: go to bed early.
Note that parking is not permitted in the adjacent market area so could be an issue.
The room was comfortable and clean but certainly not modern. The lift was small and slow.
The breakfast was in a homely dining area downstairs and had plenty of food variety including cereal (uncommon in Europe).
A downside was that the free wi-fi internet could not be accessed from our upstairs room so had to be used downstairs for that.
The location is convenient and central. If you are an active person most major sights in Brussels can be accessed from here by foot. I felt comfortable alone at night in the surrounding streets and I saw single women out also so it looks safe here. There are bars, cafes and convenience stores very close by.
In addition to Marion, the other staff were friendly and helpful, both at reception and in the dining area.
Recommended as a good value relatively centralised location with excellent staff.
