It's right opposite the Gare du Midi where the Eurostar comes in (or it would have if there hadn't been a national public transport workers' strike on the day we arrived) which is very handy. Especially as we would have had to drag our suitcases into town if we'd booked a more central hotel (over all those cobbles - would do the suitcase wheels no good at all) or taken a taxi.

In fact takes about 20 minutes or less to walk into the town centre - Grand-Place etc though it's not the most attractive of walks. I felt it was safe though lone women might feel a little intimidated as it's a male-dominated area full of those cafes women just don't go to (but at least there's not too many drunks in the area!). Anyway, it's very quick by metro (get one of those Brussels cards - you get entry to lots of museums too).

Yes, it's a chain hotel with same decor you'd find all over. But the staff are pleasant enough and there's an excellent barman who welcomed us like old friends on the second day we visited the bar. And although the bar is a typical hotel bar with little in the way of atmosphere, it's cosy enough and with an impressive choice of beers - something I've never much expected in a hotel bar. We had different beers every night. We ate in the restaurant on the last night (far too cold to venture out!) and were pleased with the vegetable tagine but perhaps wouldn't want to eat there more often as the menu didn't seem to change.

The breakfast is very expensive. But it's a buffet so you can have as much as you like. And there's not too much in the way of cafes in the area serving breakfast (maybe in the station). There's a very nice kebab shop a few hundred yards away along Ave Fonsny. Splendid falafel.

The room was very spacious with a double (king-size) and a single. Everything spotless.

If you're wanting a place near the Eurostar terminal you can't go wrong in our opinion.

I prefer not so noisy and more friendly people in the restaurant - here, there are mostly not hotel guests, but people coming only for beer drinking. And also peoplay staying quite in the space of entrance door are not very friendly. But the location of this hotel is so good that the disadvantages are just disapeared.

Because of an early business meeting in Brussels, I stayed in this hotel for a night.

I became a three person room for myself. The room was very clean and spacious. Bathroom was ok, real Ibis style. Breaksfast was not too bad, but not everything was fresh.

Bar/restaurant is not really cosy and because of this, we decide to eat out. There is a good connection to the city center right in front of the hotel.

Unfortunatly, there are some construction works at the back of the hotel. This gives a lot of noise.
